Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale nearAjax, ON

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 10.78% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 736 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

The 2024 Kona is all-new, and that fresh start gives it a more modern feel than before while keeping its compact footprint and everyday practicality front and centre. It also brings multiple powertrain options, impressive technology, and standard advanced safety features, which makes it easy to see why it appeals to a wide range of shoppers.

The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the cabin does not offer enough covered storage.

With 32.1% of listings priced as good or great deals, the market still offers some worthwhile opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kona’s appeal is built around a fresh generation, standard safety equipment, and a feature-rich package that should help it age well in everyday use. Its updated technology and broad equipment list also point to a vehicle designed to feel current for longer.

Hyundai’s emphasis on standard safety tech and connected features supports confidence in day-to-day ownership. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about choosing a trim that matches your needs without overpaying for features you may not use.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential and Preferred trims use the more basic cabin layout and smaller driver-information display, while the N Line adds a more upscale presentation with dual 12.3-inch displays and a sportier look. The base trim also misses some of the richer convenience and comfort equipment found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The Essential and Preferred trims use a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic. The turbo setup brings more power, but the review still notes modest pickup.
• Safety package: Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite is part of the Kona’s advanced driver-assistance story, and standard equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, while the N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: Every 2024 Kona gets a 12.3-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on all trims in Canada except the N Line with the Ultimate package, OTA update capability, and Bluelink connected services. The N Line with the Ultimate package uses wired smartphone connections.
• Fuel efficiency: The Essential trim with FWD is rated at 8.1 L/100 km city, 6.8 highway, and 7.5 combined. With AWD, those figures rise to 8.8/8.1/8.5 L/100 km. The N Line AWD is rated at 9.7 L/100 km city, 8.3 highway, and 9.1 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 3 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the value-focused starting point if you want the new-generation Kona’s design, standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, and core safety tech without stretching the budget. It makes the most sense if you care more about price than extra comfort features.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more everyday convenience and unlocks adaptive cruise control from the factory. If you want the strongest balance of equipment and price, this is the one to target.
• N Line: Choose this if you want the turbocharged engine, the sportier appearance, and the most upscale cabin presentation in the lineup. It is the right pick if you value extra performance and a more premium feel over outright affordability.

The safety package is strongest once you move beyond the base trim, and the N Line Ultimate package adds even more driver-assistance hardware.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some confidence if you compare listings carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 736 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,464 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $27,464 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,783 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if prices continue to ease. A model that is newly redesigned and well equipped can still hold attention, but resale strength will depend on how well the trim and condition line up with shopper demand.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite of Level 2 semi-autonomous driving features, along with standard Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, and the N Line’s Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

That broad safety equipment list is a major strength, especially for a subcompact SUV. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced driver-assistance features are reserved for higher trims or packages.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.78% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It brings a new generation, new technology, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,864 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,464 CAD average.
• It keeps the same basic package with no major changes.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong equipment and broad appeal. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year with a largely unchanged package, the 2025 is the simpler alternative.
