Used 2024 Hyundai Kona for Sale near Prince Edward Island

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Kona cost?

Prices have softened 10.24% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 690 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 5/5 user rating and an 8.33/10 expert rating.

The model scores 9/10 across Cost effectiveness, Technology, and Safety.

It stands out as an all-new generation with a fresh design, new technology, and a compact footprint that still suits everyday use. The trade-offs are clear: performance is fairly pedestrian, and the cabin does not offer enough covered storage.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a strong-value example.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Kona’s all-new generation and strong safety and technology package point to a well-developed small SUV rather than a rushed redesign. Hyundai’s Highway Driving Assist suite also suggests a polished approach to driver assistance and day-to-day usability.

The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that a feature-rich, newly redesigned model can be more expensive to keep in top condition if you want everything working as intended.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential and Preferred trims use more black body cladding, while the N Line gets body-coloured wheel arches and a more upscale appearance. The base trim also misses some of the richer equipment found higher up the range.
• Powertrain: The Essential and Preferred trims use a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre four-cylinder with a CVT, while the N Line uses a turbocharged 1.6-litre four-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic and paddle shifters.
• Safety package: Hyundai Highway Driving Assist is the named driver-assistance suite, and standard safety equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, while the N Line Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.
• Infotainment: A 12.3-inch touchscreen is standard across the lineup, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all trims in Canada except the N Line with the Ultimate package, and OTA update capability is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: AWD raises fuel consumption on the Essential trim from 8.1 L/100 km city, 6.8 highway, and 7.5 combined to 8.8/8.1/8.5, while the N Line AWD is rated at 9.7 L/100 km city, 8.3 highway, and 9.1 combined.

Which 2024 Hyundai Kona trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona is offered in 3 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, N Line.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, and it gives you the new-generation Kona’s standard 12.3-inch touchscreen, LED lighting, and core safety tech at the lowest price. It makes sense if you want the modern redesign without stretching your budget.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds more comfort and convenience, including adaptive cruise control and available AWD. If you want the sweet spot between price and equipment, this is the one to focus on.
• N Line: This is the most powerful and most feature-rich trim, with the turbocharged 1.6-litre engine, paddle shifters, larger wheels, and a more distinctive look. It suits you best if you want the sportiest Kona and are willing to pay for it.

Hyundai’s safety package is strong across the lineup, but adaptive cruise control starts at Preferred, so that trim is the key step up for many buyers.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Kona?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 690 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.24% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,603 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $27,670 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,825 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward from the prior year’s pricing, which can make the Kona more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, that also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and trim rather than on broad market momentum alone.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Kona safe?

The 2024 Hyundai Kona earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes with Hyundai Highway Driving Assist, and standard safety equipment includes Safe Exit Warning, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, and high-beam assist. Adaptive cruise control is standard from the Preferred trim, while the N Line Ultimate package adds Surround View Monitor and blind-spot view monitor.

That means you should pay close attention to trim choice if advanced driver assistance matters to you, since some of the more useful features start above the base model.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.24% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The all-new generation brings fresh design, new technology, and standard advanced safety features.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,950 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,670 CAD average.
• It is mostly unchanged, so you are paying more for a newer model year rather than a major upgrade.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2024 is the smarter buy because it combines a lower average price with strong equipment and broad appeal. If you are willing to pay more for a newer model year and do not mind the lack of major changes, the 2025 is the cleaner alternative.
