How much does the 2024 Honda Civic cost?

Prices have softened 9.66% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 804 listings available, which suggests you have a healthy amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating and 8.00/10 expert rating point to a strong overall showing. The standout strength is Technology at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise the new look, interior design, smooth manual shifting, and great gas mileage. The Civic Si framing also fits buyers who want a car that is rewarding to drive while still being usable every day.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and the brakes can’t withstand repeated hard use. The model also suits you best if you value driving engagement over outright refinement.

With 28.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with praise for the smooth manual shifting and strong fuel economy. That combination suggests you can count on it for regular commuting and longer-term ownership if you keep up with maintenance.

The expert drive notes also describe the Civic Si as surprisingly docile in urban and suburban driving, which supports the idea that it is easy to live with over time. Honda also includes the first scheduled maintenance visit as part of the ownership experience.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that the car’s enthusiast focus can mean harder use, so a careful inspection matters.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Civic Si’s stealthy styling, LED lighting, gloss-black exterior details, red interior accents, and 18-inch matte-black wheels help distinguish it from the standard Civic sedan, but you should make sure the feature set matches what you want before paying Si money.
• Powertrain: You get a high-output turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque, paired with a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission, rev-matching, a helical limited-slip differential, and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing includes forward collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-centring assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, automatic high-beam headlights, front and rear parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition. The system can be irritating, so test it carefully.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch colour touchscreen with onboard navigation, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, text-messaging support, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, HondaLink connected services, and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada says it should burn 7.7 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test route returned 8.0 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Honda Civic trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic is offered in 1 trim level: Civic Si.

Here's the short version:

The Civic Si: This is the one to buy if you want the full enthusiast experience, because it combines the turbocharged engine, manual transmission, limited-slip differential, and upgraded chassis hardware with strong standard tech. It is also the best-value choice here because there is only one trim, so you are not paying extra to unlock the core Si formula.

Honda Sensing is standard, but its lane-keeping and adaptive cruise behaviour may not suit every driver.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic's resale value?

The current average of $27,737 CAD sits slightly below last year's $30,703 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices stay under pressure. The current year-round range suggests there is still room for values to move around depending on condition, mileage, and equipment.

Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell. Enthusiast appeal, good fuel economy, and a well-regarded interior all work in this model’s favour.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.66% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 Civic Si keeps the enthusiast-focused manual-transmission formula intact.

Consider the 2025 if:

• At $29,961 CAD, the 2025 costs more than the current year's $27,737 CAD average.
• It adds a clearer powertrain lineup and Google Built-In.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2024 is the smarter buy because prices are softer and the Si formula is already well established. If you are willing to spend more for a newer model-year update and a broader lineup, the 2025 is worth a look.
