Used 2024 Hyundai Elantra for Sale near Thornhill, ON

How much does the 2024 Hyundai Elantra cost?

Prices have softened 12.07% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 904 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra a good car?

It can be a strong fit if you want a compact sedan with character, variety, and a value-focused feature mix rather than a plain commuter car. The user rating is 3/5, and the expert rating is 7.33/10.

The model scores 8/10 across Performance, Form and function, and Cost effectiveness.

The 2024 Elantra is described as a sporty-looking, versatile sedan with multiple powertrain options and a manual transmission available. It is also presented as a well-mannered car that can be comfortable and economical while still being entertaining to drive.

The trade-offs are clear: the design may be polarising, the base engine is underwhelming, and the interior materials can feel cheap.

With 32.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market if you shop carefully.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra reliable?

The 2024 Elantra is positioned as a well-sorted compact sedan that has moved well beyond Hyundai’s older bargain-basement image. The expert summary says it now competes on substance, especially how it drives and feels, and the model comes with a five-year/100,000-kilometre new vehicle warranty.

Its standard 2.0-litre engine is described as adequate around town, while the broader lineup gives you multiple powertrain choices if you want more performance or better efficiency. The hybrid setup is especially efficient, and the non-hybrid models are also noted for strong fuel economy.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the base car’s simpler hardware and cheaper-feeling cabin may age less gracefully than the more expensive trims.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Essential, Preferred, and Luxury trims are the mainstream choices, but the base Essential is the one most likely to feel sparse. The interior is described as inviting overall, yet the cabin is still very plastic-heavy, so you should pay attention to whether the trim you’re considering has the equipment and materials you want.
• Powertrain: The common 2.0-litre inline-four with 147 horsepower and a CVT is adequate in town but weak and loud on the highway. If you want more personality, the 1.6-litre turbo in the N Line with 201 horsepower and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is the stronger choice. The Elantra Hybrid uses a 1.6-litre engine, a battery pack, and a single electric motor for much better efficiency.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward braking assist, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. From the Preferred grade, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist are added. Luxury trims up to N Line include forward collision avoidance with pedestrian and cyclist detection, junction turning assist, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, and highway driving assist.
• Infotainment: The Essential and Preferred trims get an 8-inch touchscreen, while Luxury and above get a 10.25-inch screen. The smaller system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the larger one does not. A digital instrument panel is standard from Luxury up.
• Fuel efficiency: The hybrid is rated at 4.8 L/100 km city, 4.5 highway, and 4.7 combined. Non-hybrid trims are rated at 7.7 L/100 km city, 5.9 highway, and 6.9 combined for the base engine, and 8.3/6.8/7.6 for the N Line Ultimate.

Which 2024 Hyundai Elantra trim should I buy?

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra is offered in 5 trim levels: Essential, Preferred, Luxury, N Line Ultimate, and N.

Here's the short version:

• Essential: This is the entry point, but it is best if you simply want the lowest-cost way into the Elantra lineup and can live with the most basic presentation.
• Preferred: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds important safety equipment such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit assist.
• Luxury: This is the sweet spot if you want the more polished tech and convenience setup, including the larger touchscreen, digital instrument panel, Bose audio, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist.
• N Line Ultimate: Choose this if you want the more engaging turbocharged personality and a firmer, more controlled feel without going all the way to the full performance model.
• N: This is the enthusiast choice if you want the most powerful and most serious performance version in the lineup.

The safety-package step-up from Preferred to Luxury is especially worth noting if you want the fuller driver-assistance set.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Hyundai Elantra?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings and wait for the right one.

• Deal availability: 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 904 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.07% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $22,681 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra's resale value?

The current average of $22,683 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,797 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Elantra has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation. If you buy now, you may be entering at a more favourable point than a seller did a year ago.

For a future seller, that means resale value may remain under pressure unless the car is a desirable trim or exceptionally well kept. The strongest retained value is likely to come from versions with better equipment, stronger powertrains, and cleaner condition.

Is the 2024 Hyundai Elantra safe?

The 2024 Elantra received a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and was named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include forward braking assist, lane keep assist and lane departure warning, lane following assist, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor.

There are some caveats to keep in mind: IIHS did not perform all of its standard crash tests, rear passengers had a higher risk of injury in the newer frontal test, and there are no frontal knee airbags.

Should I buy a 2024 Hyundai Elantra or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.07% compared with last year.
• The mild refresh adds more style and standard equipment, while the lineup still gives you a wide spread of trims and powertrains.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $20,919 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $22,683 CAD average.
• It offers a wide spread of choices in one compact sedan.

The bottom line: If you want the newer look, updated equipment, and a broader sense of polish, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving money and you still want the Elantra’s core strengths, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly path.
