How much does the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback cost?

Prices have softened 6.59% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 61 listings available, which gives you a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.67/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Performance and Form and function.

It stands out as a compact car that blends quality, fun, safety, utility, and affordability, and the hatchback body adds meaningful practicality. The turbocharged engine and available manual transmission make it especially appealing if you want a more engaging daily driver.

The main trade-offs are that all-wheel drive is not available and blind-spot warning is reserved for expensive trims. Even so, 44.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which suggests there are still worthwhile opportunities in the market.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The Civic Hatchback is presented as practical, safe, and affordable without feeling basic, and the expert assessment describes it as refined and sophisticated in how its driver-assistance systems work. Its turbocharged powertrain and strong safety performance also support the case for dependable everyday use.

The performance and ownership picture is reassuring for used buyers, though you should still pay close attention to trim equipment and maintenance history so you do not overpay for features you may not need.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Sport trim is the value-oriented choice, while the Sport Touring adds quality materials, elegant detailing, and more technology. The base trim-level equipment is notably more basic, especially for displays and infotainment.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the Civic Hatchback uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque. You can choose a six-speed manual or a CVT with paddle shifters and a Sport driving mode on Sport Touring, while the Sport trim comes only with a CVT.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring is standard in Canada, but rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are limited to Sport Touring.
• Infotainment: The Sport trim has a 7-inch digital instrumentation panel and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Sport Touring upgrades to a 10.2-inch digital instrumentation display and a 9-inch touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM satellite radio, HD Radio, navigation, wireless smartphone charging, and a 12-speaker Bose premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: A manual-transmission Civic Hatchback is expected to average 8.5 L/100 km in city driving, 6.3 on the highway, and 7.5 combined. With the CVT, those figures improve to 7.7 L/100 km city, 6.3 highway, and 7.1 combined.

Which 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback is offered in 2 trim levels: Sport and Sport Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the value-oriented trim, and it gives you the Civic Hatchback’s core strengths without stepping up to the pricier technology and convenience upgrades. It suits you if you want the most affordable path into the model and are comfortable with the smaller 7-inch displays.
• Sport Touring: This is the best-value trim if you want the Civic Hatchback at its most complete. It adds the larger 10.2-inch digital display, 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation, wireless charging, and the 12-speaker Bose audio system, along with the most complete parking and low-speed braking features.

Blind-spot monitoring is standard, but rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are limited to Sport Touring.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback?

It looks like a buyer’s market if you are shopping carefully.

• Deal availability: 44.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 61 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,423 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $30,651 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,811 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if market conditions stay similar. The current range suggests the model is still holding meaningful value, yet not at the same level it did a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback safe?

The 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback earns Good ratings in nearly all assessments performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), with an Acceptable rating in a new updated side-impact test. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gives it an overall crashworthiness rating of five stars, and it also earned a rare five-star rollover resistance rating.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist and low-speed follow capability with the CVT, automatic high-beam headlights, and traffic sign recognition. Blind-spot monitoring is also standard in Canada, but rear cross-traffic alert and front and rear parking sensors with low-speed automatic braking are limited to Sport Touring.

The main caveat is the Acceptable IIHS side-impact result, and the expert evaluation also notes that adaptive cruise control can be lethargic and that the car can brake unnecessarily in some situations.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 44.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.59% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It is praised this year for blending quality, fun, safety, utility, and affordability in a hatchback package with an available manual transmission.

The bottom line: If you want a compact hatchback that feels engaging, practical, and well-rounded, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are especially price-sensitive, keep shopping the market for a listing near the low end of the range, because the current softness gives you room to negotiate.
