This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can be choosy without expecting deep discounts on every listing.

What is the 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback's resale value?

The current average of $22,694 CAD sits slightly below last year's $25,703 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means a future seller may need to price carefully to stay competitive. If the market continues to normalise, resale values could remain under pressure compared with stronger periods. Even so, the model’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when you eventually sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2021 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2021 if:

• 32.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.70% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $25,865 CAD, the 2022 costs more than the current year's $22,694 CAD average.
• The redesigned hatchback returns with added practicality and a more versatile cargo area.

The bottom line: Choose the 2021 if you want the better value and a strong mix of owner satisfaction, pricing, and availability. If you are willing to spend more for a redesigned hatchback with extra practicality, the 2022 is the better alternative; if price matters most, the 2021 is the smarter starting point.
