How much does the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid cost?

Is the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid a good car?

Generally — 4.4/5 from owners points to strong satisfaction, and the expert rating is 7.00/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Form and function, and Safety.

Drivers consistently praise the comfortable ride, roomy cabin, and fuel efficiency, and many also like the tech features and overall value versus the gas-only version. The CR-V Hybrid is especially appealing if you want a practical, comfort-focused compact crossover that is easy to live with rather than sporty or flashy.

The trade-offs are clear: the expert assessment calls out disappointing fuel economy for a hybrid, along with a high price and a lack of conversational voice recognition.

With 28.9% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid reliable?

Owners rate it 4.4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

User feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with drivers highlighting the CR-V Hybrid’s comfort and the confidence they have in it over the long term. The expert assessment also describes it as a safe, easy-to-drive SUV that feels well put together and pleasing to live with.

Honda’s hybrid system is presented as transparent in normal driving, which supports the impression of everyday dependability. The main long-term ownership risk for used buyers is that the hybrid’s value proposition depends heavily on fuel savings, and that payoff may be less convincing than you expect.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The EX-L Hybrid brings the electrified powertrain to a lower starting point than the Touring Hybrid, while the Touring adds more premium equipment and the most complete feature set. The base cabin presentation is relatively basic, so you should decide whether the extra comfort and tech are worth moving up.
• Powertrain: The hybrid uses a fourth-generation Honda two-motor system with an Atkinson-cycle 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine and two electric motors, and it sends 204 horsepower to all four wheels. It is smooth and transparent in normal use, but the expert assessment notes steady-state engine droning on hills and a low-speed electric warning sound.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, a rear seat reminder, automatic high beams, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Hybrid trims, and front and rear parking sensors are also included; low-speed automatic braking control is added on the Touring.
• Infotainment: You get a 9-inch infotainment display, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, and wireless smartphone charging. Touring trim adds navigation and a 12-speaker Bose premium audio system.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 6.4 L/100 km in combined driving, but the expert test vehicle returned 8.7 L/100 km on a mountainous loop.

Which 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid trim should I buy?

The 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid is offered in 2 trim levels: EX-L Hybrid and Touring Hybrid.

Here's the short version:

• EX-L Hybrid: This is the best-value choice if you want the hybrid powertrain at a lower entry price. It gives you the standard all-wheel-drive hybrid setup, the roomy cabin, and the core comfort and safety strengths without paying for the top trim’s extras.
• Touring Hybrid: Choose this if you want the most complete CR-V Hybrid experience, including navigation, the 12-speaker Bose audio system, and low-speed automatic braking control. It suits you best if you value convenience and premium features more than keeping the purchase price down.

Honda Sensing is standard across the hybrid lineup, while blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is also standard on the Hybrid trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 603 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $39,580 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid's resale value?

The current average of $39,673 CAD sits slightly below last year's $43,285 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more affordably now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values continue to ease. If you own one for several years, the current trend suggests resale will depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid safe?

The 2024 CR-V Hybrid earns a Top Safety Pick award from the IIHS, though it does not achieve the higher Top Safety Pick+ result because of its poor rating in the updated moderate overlap front test.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Honda Sensing is standard and includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane-centring assist, adaptive cruise control, traffic jam assist, a rear seat reminder, automatic high beams, and a driver monitoring system. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Hybrid trims, and front and rear parking sensors are also included; low-speed automatic braking control is added on the Touring.

The main caveat is the poor IIHS result in the updated moderate overlap front test, which keeps it from the top award level.

Should I buy a 2024 Honda CR-V Hybrid or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 adds an EX-L Hybrid trim level in Canada, which lowers the entry point for the hybrid powertrain.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,475 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $39,673 CAD average.
• It introduced the CR-V Hybrid to Canada as a single Hybrid Touring trim.

The bottom line: If you want the broader trim choice and a lower entry point into the hybrid lineup, the 2024 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is spending less up front and you are comfortable with the older single-trim setup, the 2023 is the more budget-friendly route.
