How much does the 2024 Genesis G70 cost?

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 a good car?

The 2024 Genesis G70 earns an 8.7/10 expert rating, and it stands out as a compact sport-luxury sedan with sharp styling, strong powertrain choices, and excellent handling.

The standout strength is Cost effectiveness at 10/10.

It also brings great build quality and impressive standard safety features, which make it especially appealing if you want a driver-focused luxury sedan that still feels well equipped for everyday use. The trade-offs are a snug cabin and limited interior storage, plus no wireless smartphone mirroring.

With 20.9% of listings priced as good or great deals, there is still some room to find a strong-value example.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 reliable?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is presented as a well-built luxury sedan with solid standard equipment and a strong warranty package, which helps support confidence in long-term ownership.

Its performance setup is described as robust, with excellent handling and hardware that can take abuse, while the brand’s five years of scheduled maintenance and map updates add useful ownership support. The 5-year, 100,000-kilometre comprehensive warranty also helps reduce early ownership risk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about living with a smaller cabin, limited storage, and the possibility of higher running costs if you choose the more powerful engine.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Genesis G70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin is well finished across the range, but the base setup still misses some of the richer equipment and convenience touches you may want, so compare the standard features carefully before you buy.
• Powertrain: You get a 2.5-litre turbocharged inline four-cylinder with 300 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque, or an available 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 with 365 horsepower and 376 lb-ft of torque. Both use an eight-speed automatic, and the 2.5-litre is the better efficiency-minded choice.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, parking distance warning, and Highway Driving Assist. A blind view monitor is available, and a 360-degree camera is available on the Sport trim.
• Infotainment: Every G70 gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but they do not work wirelessly. Over-the-air updates are included, and Genesis Connected Services is standard.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-litre engine gets 10.2 L/100 km combined, while the 3.3-litre engine returns 11.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2024 Genesis G70 is offered in 2 trim levels: Advanced and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Advanced: This is the best-value choice if you want the new 2.5-litre engine, strong standard safety tech, and the core G70 experience without stretching to the pricier performance-focused trim.
• Sport: Choose this if you want the more powerful 3.3-litre V6 and the extra hardware that suits enthusiastic driving, including the more serious chassis and braking setup.

The Sport trim also gets the available 360-degree camera, while the standard safety package remains strong across the lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Genesis G70?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings before moving quickly.

• Deal availability: 20.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 67 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.29% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,697 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $40,697 CAD sits slightly below last year's $51,706 CAD.

That drop suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers than sellers. If you own one, you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if your car is not equipped or presented as well as the strongest listings.

For future resale, the G70's value story should remain tied to its strong equipment, sharp styling, and desirable powertrains. A well-kept example with the right trim and service history should be easier to position than one that feels sparse or neglected.

Is the 2024 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2024 Genesis G70 has not received an overall, frontal, side impact or rollover crash rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). However, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) gave the G70 the top score of “Good” in crashworthiness, crash avoidance and mitigation.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rain-sensing wipers, parking distance warning, and Highway Driving Assist. A blind view monitor is available, and a 360-degree camera is available on the Sport trim.

One caveat to keep in mind is the child-restraint result: the G70 received a “Marginal” score because the lower LATCH anchors are difficult to access.

Should I buy a 2024 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 20.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 21.29% compared with last year.
• The new, more powerful base engine and strong handling make this year especially compelling.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $37,016 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $40,697 CAD average.
• It is a stylish, well-rounded small luxury sedan with standard AWD and a broad trim range.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the fresher engine, stronger value story, and the most up-to-date version of the G70’s already appealing formula. If your priority is saving money, the 2023 remains a smart alternative because it delivers much of the same core character for less.
