Used 2024 GMC Canyon for Sale nearScarborough, ON

How much does the 2024 GMC Canyon cost?

Prices have softened 6.61% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 179 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon a good car?

It’s a strong choice if you want a midsize pickup that feels more upscale and more capable than many rivals, though its price and packaging trade-offs matter. You get a 3/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating, which fits a truck that blends premium materials, standout tech, and serious capability with some compromises.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

The Canyon’s appeal is rooted in its taller, wider stance, generous standard equipment, and strong towing and hauling ability. It is aimed at buyers who want a truck that can go farther and work harder than the rest, and the cabin quality helps it feel more polished than a typical work-focused pickup.

The main trade-offs are the shorter bed, the cramped back seat, and the fact that it’s expensive.

With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon reliable?

The 2024 GMC Canyon’s reliability story is best understood as strong capability paired with a few ownership-cost cautions. Its turbocharged four-cylinder is described as robust enough for towing, hauling, and off-road driving, and the truck’s road manners are helped by well-damped noise and a suspension setup that smooths rough pavement without feeling overly soft.

The Canyon’s powertrain is presented as durable and well matched to the truck’s mission, and the available maintenance perk language is not part of the provided data. For used buyers, the bigger long-term risk is not mechanical fragility so much as higher running costs and the possibility that expensive options can make ownership pricier than expected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Elevation comes closest to a work-truck feel, while the AT4 aims for more off-road capability, the Denali leans luxury, and the AT4X doubles down on dirt-focused intentions. The base trim still gets cloth seats, keyless entry, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen, but some comfort features are only available rather than standard.
• Powertrain: Every trim uses the most powerful version of the turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder, with 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. It’s paired with an eight-speed automatic, and in Canada every trim gets 4WD.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. On lower trims, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist require the Canyon Safety Plus package.
• Infotainment: The standard 11.3-inch touchscreen includes Google Built-in, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included. The Denali and AT4X also get a head-up display.
• Fuel efficiency: Fuel consumption is 13.2 L/100 km in the city, 10.9 L/100 km on the highway, and 12.2 L/100 km combined. The AT4X AEV tester is rated at 14.9 L/100 km combined.

Which 2024 GMC Canyon trim should I buy?

The 2024 GMC Canyon is offered in 4 trim levels: Elevation, AT4, Denali, and AT4X.

Here's the short version:

• Elevation: This is the entry point, but it still feels well equipped with cloth seats, keyless entry, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and an 11.3-inch touchscreen. It makes sense if you want the most accessible Canyon and can live without some of the nicer comfort and safety extras.
• AT4: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds a more off-road-focused character without jumping all the way to the top-end pricing. It suits you if you want capability and a more rugged personality.
• Denali: Choose this if you want the most luxury-oriented Canyon. It leans into the upscale cabin feel and adds a head-up display, making it the pick for buyers who care most about comfort and presentation.
• AT4X: This is the most extreme off-road choice, especially with the AEV package. It adds serious hardware and is the right fit if you want maximum dirt-road ambition and don’t mind the price.

The AT4 and Denali come with an auto-locking rear differential, while the AT4X adds driver-selectable front and rear lockers. Higher-spec trims also gain more standard safety equipment.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 GMC Canyon?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 179 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $51,566 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 GMC Canyon's resale value?

The current average of $51,566 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,214 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Canyon has softened enough to improve your buying position today. If you own one, it also means the market is valuing this model year a bit more cautiously than it did a year ago.

For a future seller, that can mean you may need to price competitively to move the truck quickly. The upside is that the Canyon’s premium positioning and strong equipment list should still help it hold appeal with shoppers who want a more upscale midsize pickup.

Is the 2024 GMC Canyon safe?

The 2024 GMC Canyon earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings in rollover, and five-star ratings in side-impact testing.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety equipment includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-keeping assist, lane-departure warning, and a rear-seat reminder system. On lower trims, rear park assist, rear cross-traffic braking, and blind-zone steering assist are bundled into an optional package rather than included as standard equipment.

That means the Canyon gives you a solid core safety suite, but you may need to move up trim or add packages to get the fuller set of driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2024 GMC Canyon or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.61% compared with last year.
• It adds a new AEV package that makes the AT4X even more capable off-road.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $48,466 CAD, the 2023 costs less than the current year's $51,566 CAD average.
• It’s a redesigned next-generation midsize truck with a more upscale feel and strong tech.

The bottom line: Choose the 2024 if you want the latest version with the added AEV off-road option and you’re comfortable paying more for it. If your priority is value, the 2023 is the smarter path because it delivers much of the same redesign-era appeal for less money.
