How much does the 2024 Ford Mustang cost?

Prices have held steady compared to this time last year, signaling a stable and predictable market for this model year.

There are 206 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang a good car?

Yes — the 2024 Ford Mustang earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Performance and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its performance and driving experience, especially its speed and handling. The updated technology is another recurring strength, and many owners also like the engine sound and the available comfort features in higher trims. For buyers who want a car with a strong identity rather than something that blends into the crowd, the Mustang’s heritage-and-modernisation mix fits the bill well.

The main trade-offs are a cramped back seat and limited cargo space, and it can be noisy. Even so, the market still shows 33.5% of listings as good or great deals, which points to solid value if you want a distinctive sports car.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback points to a car that feels dependable in daily use, with many drivers describing it as a satisfying, trouble-free performance car they can count on. The expert evaluation also notes that the Mustang is approachable and easy to drive, which supports confidence for long-term ownership.

The cost-effectiveness review also highlights that the Mustang delivers strong value for money, which can help offset ownership concerns for used buyers. For a used purchase, the main risk is less about outright reliability and more about choosing a well-kept example that has been maintained properly.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Ford Mustang?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin gets a much more modern look, with a glass panel that encloses the digital instrument panel and infotainment touchscreen, while base models use two separate screens and Premium models place them in a single enclosure. You should also note that the interior keeps a cleaner dash layout than before, but some buyers may prefer the older traditional setup.
• Powertrain: The entry engine is a 2.3-litre turbo four-cylinder with 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive. GT models use a 5.0-litre V8 with 480 hp and a six-speed manual standard, with a 10-speed automatic available.
• Safety package: Standard equipment includes frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control and a safe passenger exit warning are available options.
• Infotainment: All 2024 Mustangs come with a 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen, a digital instrument cluster, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa integration, and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The system is easy to use, though responses to inputs can be slow.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder EcoBoost is rated at 10.8 L/100 km city, 7.1 L/100 km highway, and 9.2 L/100 km combined. With the Performance Pack, it rises to 11.1/8.2/9.8. The V8 GT is rated at 15.8/9.8/13.1 with the automatic, and 16.6/10.2/13.8 with the manual.

Which 2024 Ford Mustang trim should I buy?

The 2024 Ford Mustang is offered in 4 trim levels: EcoBoost, EcoBoost Premium, GT, GT Premium.

Here's the short version:

• EcoBoost: This is the value pick if you want the Mustang experience at the lowest entry point. You still get the 315-horsepower turbo four-cylinder, rear-wheel drive, the 13.2-inch touchscreen, and the core safety and connectivity features, so it covers the essentials well.
• EcoBoost Premium: Choose this if you want the same base powertrain but a more upscale cabin presentation. The Premium layout places the screens in a single enclosure, which gives the interior a more polished look and better suits buyers who care about the upgraded feel.
• GT: This is the best choice if you want the classic Mustang character and the strongest performance value. The 5.0-litre V8, standard manual transmission, and much stronger output make it the most compelling trim for enthusiasts.
• GT Premium: Pick this if you want the V8 experience and the more upscale interior treatment together. It is the most complete version for buyers who want performance and a richer cabin in one package.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, while adaptive cruise control and the safe passenger exit warning remain optional.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Ford Mustang?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 206 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,067 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Ford Mustang's resale value?

The current average of $53,684 CAD sits slightly above last year's $53,378 CAD.

That small increase suggests the Mustang has held its value fairly well, which is a positive sign if you plan to sell later. Stable pricing also points to steady demand rather than a market that is swinging sharply in either direction. For a future seller, that usually means you can expect a more predictable resale outcome if the car is kept in good condition and presented well.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2024 Ford Mustang safe?

The 2024 Ford Mustang is rated Good by the IIHS in most tests, with an Acceptable result in the driver-side small overlap test. The previous generation also earned five-star ratings across the board from NHTSA.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Standard safety features include frontal collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, rear parking sensors, rain-sensing wipers, and automatic high beams. Adaptive cruise control and a safe passenger exit warning are available options.

The main caveat is that the crash-test results cited here come from the previous generation, not this exact model year, so you should keep that in mind when weighing safety confidence.

Should I buy a 2024 Ford Mustang or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 33.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have held steady compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2024 model brings a major interior and technology update while keeping the Mustang’s classic identity.

The bottom line: If you want the newest version of the Mustang formula with the strongest mix of heritage, updated tech, and broad market availability, the 2024 is the one to target. If you are more price-sensitive, a nearby year may still make sense, but the 2024’s stable pricing and strong owner satisfaction make it an easy year to recommend.
