Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD. The overview points to a truck that is built around serious capability rather than car-like manners, with towing and payload figures that put it firmly in work-truck territory. Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile opportunities.

• Deal availability: 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 169 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $74,404 CAD sits slightly below last year's $79,959 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased, which can help you buy at a better entry point today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. Because the truck is aimed at buyers who need serious capability, well-kept examples should still attract interest from shoppers with specific towing and hauling needs.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 38.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.95% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: You should focus on the 2024 if you want a heavy-duty truck with strong capability and a market that currently gives you some negotiating room. If your priority is stretching your budget as far as possible, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 is the better starting point if you want the current-year balance of capability and pricing.
