Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for a heavy-duty pickup, and the Silverado 3500HD’s appeal is its mix of brute strength, modern tech, and a wide trim range that runs from WT to High Country. It is built first and foremost for serious work, with towing capability up to 16,300 kilograms and payload up to 3,300 kilograms, while still offering useful trailering technology and everyday conveniences like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio. 36.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The Silverado 3500HD is presented as a work-focused heavy-duty truck with proven V8 power, an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, and available trailering technology that helps make it easier to place in tight spaces. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about outright capability and more about whether you need the truck’s size, complexity, and higher running costs for the kind of work you actually do.

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $73,188 CAD sits slightly below last year's $81,039 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means a future seller may face a more competitive market if prices do not rebound. The Silverado 3500HD’s strong work-truck reputation and broad buyer appeal should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples with the right towing setup. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
