Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.5/5 is a strong user rating for a truck that is built around serious capability rather than car-like manners. The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is aimed at you if you need maximum towing hardware, a high payload rating, multiple cab and bed combinations, dual-rear-wheel availability, and trailering technology that helps manage a very large truck. Its aggressive styling and work-truck focus reinforce that purpose-built identity. With 39.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty truck built for serious hauling, with a broad set of configurations and a strong equipment list that supports work use. Its appeal comes from durability-minded engineering, towing-focused hardware, and the kind of utility features that make a large truck easier to live with. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that a truck designed for hard work may have been used hard, so condition and maintenance history matter a lot.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Deal availability: 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 170 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $71,837 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $73,474 CAD sits slightly below last year's $80,232 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively if they want to move quickly. Because the truck is still positioned as a serious-capability heavy-duty pickup, demand should remain tied to how well it matches work needs and how clean the example is. If you buy well now, you may have a better chance of limiting depreciation pressure later.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 39.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.42% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want a heavy-duty truck with serious towing and payload capability, the 2024 Silverado 3500HD is the right year to focus on, especially if you value a strong mix of work-focused hardware and available inventory. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2024 makes the most sense when you want current-year pricing softness and a solid satisfaction signal in one package.
