Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Subaru Ascent?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 200 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.49% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $33,661 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Subaru Ascent's resale value?

The current average of $33,661 CAD sits slightly below last year's $38,908 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should be set with the current softer pricing in mind. If demand stays steady, the Ascent’s family-friendly appeal should help support values, but the recent decline shows there is still some room for depreciation pressure.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.49% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $30,799 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $33,661 CAD average.
• It suits buyers who need Subaru’s only three-row model.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,811 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $33,661 CAD average.
• It keeps the familiar formula with standard all-wheel drive and strong safety appeal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the refreshed model-year updates and a market price that has already come down. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value path. If you want the newer year and are comfortable paying more, the 2024 remains a sensible alternative.
