Used 2020 Subaru Ascent for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2020 Subaru Ascent cost?

Prices have softened 13.34% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 131 listings available, which gives you a reasonable amount of choice if you are comparing condition, mileage, and equipment.

Is the 2020 Subaru Ascent a good car?

Yes — the 4.9/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its roominess, safety features, and family-friendly design, and many also like the comfortable interior and balanced driving experience. It fits especially well if you want a practical three-row SUV with seating for seven or eight passengers and standard all-wheel drive. With 33.6% of listings marked as good or great deals, you still have some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2020 Subaru Ascent reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The user feedback also points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience for many drivers, especially those who value its family-focused packaging and safety equipment. That said, some shoppers may want to weigh the long-term cost of ownership against its fuel economy and feature set.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about outright durability and more about whether the vehicle’s efficiency and equipment match your needs over time.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Subaru Ascent?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the best-priced examples.

• Deal availability: 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 131 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.34% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,334 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 Subaru Ascent's resale value?

The current average of $23,653 CAD sits slightly below last year's $27,294 CAD.

That kind of price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently now but may also limit upside if you plan to sell soon. If you own one for several years, the softer entry price can help offset some depreciation pressure. Strong demand for family-friendly, all-wheel-drive SUVs can still support future resale, especially when the vehicle is well equipped and in good condition.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2020 Subaru Ascent or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 33.6% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 13.34% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2020 is a strong choice if you want a well-equipped, family-friendly three-row SUV and you value the current price drop. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may also want to compare nearby model years to see whether a similar Ascent offers a better mix of equipment and asking price.
