Used 2023 RAM 1500 for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2023 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 11.77% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,167 listings available, which suggests healthy inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 RAM 1500 earns a 4.65/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Look and feel and Performance.

Owners consistently praise the upscale interior, comfortable ride, and solid performance. The stylish design and good fuel economy also come up often, especially for a truck of this size.

The trade-offs are a small back seat and some minor feature-related complaints. In context, this is a full-size pickup aimed at buyers who want capability without giving up a more refined cabin and road manners.

With 33.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful value in the market.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.65/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owners also describe it as dependable and trouble-free, with comments pointing to solid performance and a truck they can count on over time. The expert assessment reinforces that impression by highlighting its smooth ride, strong powertrain, and well-matched eight-speed automatic transmission.

The gas powertrain is backed by a five-year/100,000-kilometre warranty, which helps reduce early ownership risk for used buyers.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lower trims are more basic, while upper trims bring a more upscale cabin, more leather, open-pore wood, and the 12-inch portrait-oriented screen. Base-trim shoppers should pay close attention to feature gaps, especially around safety and technology.
• Powertrain: You can find rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive, with a 3.6-litre V6 with eTorque, a 5.7-litre Hemi V8, a 3.0-litre EcoDiesel, and a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 in the TRX. The V8 with eTorque is strong, and the diesel is the efficiency play.
• Safety package: Forward collision warning is not standard, and blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning are optional or bundled. Trailer-length blind-spot coverage is a useful add-on if you tow.
• Infotainment: Lower trims get a 5-inch screen, mid trims use an 8.4-inch touchscreen, and upper trims can have a 12-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, but the system can feel a bit laggy at times.
• Fuel efficiency: The V8 4WD eTorque model is rated at 13.5 L/100 km city, 10.5 highway, and 12.1 combined. The 3.0-litre turbo diesel is rated at 11.1 L/100 km city, 8.0 highway, and 9.7 combined.

Which 2023 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2023 RAM 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Sport, Rebel, Laramie, Limited Longhorn, Limited, and TRX.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the least expensive path into the lineup, but it is also the most stripped-down. It makes sense if you want the Ram name and basic truck utility, but you should expect fewer comfort and tech features than higher trims.
• Big Horn: This is the value-oriented step up for shoppers who want a better balance of equipment and price. It should suit you if you want a more livable daily driver without jumping too far up the budget ladder.
• Sport: This trim adds a more distinctive appearance and sits in the middle of the range for buyers who want a bit more style without going all the way to luxury pricing.
• Rebel: This is the off-road-leaning choice, with a 2.5-centimetre lift, skid plates, and hill-descent control. It is the right pick if you want a more adventurous truck without moving into the TRX’s extreme territory.
• Laramie: This is where the cabin starts to feel notably more upscale, with more premium materials and a stronger luxury lean. It is a sensible choice if comfort matters as much as capability.
• Limited Longhorn: This trim pushes further into premium territory with richer interior treatment and more upscale presentation. It suits you if you want a truck that feels especially refined.
• Limited: This is the best-value trim for shoppers who want the most polished mix of comfort, materials, and available tech without going all the way to the TRX. It is the sweet spot if you want a luxury-leaning Ram 1500.
• TRX: This is the high-performance, extreme off-road model with a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 and serious hardware. It is for buyers who want maximum drama and capability, not efficiency or restraint.

Safety-package note: advanced driver-assistance features are not standard, so you should check carefully for the options you want on any trim.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 RAM 1500?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare listings and enough price softness to create opportunities.

• Deal availability: 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,167 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.77% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,385 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $41,748 CAD sits slightly below last year's $47,320 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to used buyers today. For future sellers, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to move the truck quickly.

The good news is that the RAM 1500 still has broad appeal thanks to its upscale cabin, strong ride quality, and solid owner satisfaction. Those traits help support demand even when pricing softens.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.65/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 RAM 1500 safe?

The 2023 Ram 1500 crew cab earns five-star ratings from NHTSA overall. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gives it Good marks across the board except for Marginal grades for seat belt reminders and LATCH ease of use.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

The Ram 1500 falters a bit on standard advanced driver-assist systems. Nothing is standard across the board, not even forward collision warning. Blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning are all optional or part of a package.

If you add blind-spot monitoring, it can cover the length of a trailer, which is especially helpful when towing in traffic. One caveat to keep in mind is that IIHS also gives Marginal marks to the headlights on most trims, with Good grades reserved for Limited, Longhorn, and TRX.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.77% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.65/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2023 keeps the Ram 1500’s upscale cabin, smooth ride, and strong powertrain appeal intact.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,841 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $41,748 CAD average.
• It offers a comfortable, luxurious ride with strong overall value.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger current-market mix of pricing, inventory, and owner satisfaction, the 2023 is the better all-around pick. If your priority is saving a bit more upfront, the 2022 is the sensible alternative.
