Used 2022 RAM 1500 for Sale nearOttawa, ON

How much does the 2022 RAM 1500 cost?

Prices have softened 8.84% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 2,696 listings available, which suggests solid inventory for shoppers comparing trims and prices.

Is the 2022 RAM 1500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 1500 earns a 4.8/5 user rating and a 7.7/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its exceptional comfort, luxurious ride, strong power, and good value for money. The interior also gets strong marks for its beautiful materials and thoughtful features, and the truck is described as performing well both on the road and off.

For buyers who want a full-size pickup that feels more refined than purely utilitarian, the 2022 RAM 1500 fits that brief well. It is especially appealing if you value comfort, premium cabin feel, and everyday drivability in a truck.

Only 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is offering some room to shop carefully.

Is the 2022 RAM 1500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a truck you can count on for comfort, strong power, and a generally trouble-free ownership experience. The praise for its luxurious ride and durable-feeling interior suggests it is built to satisfy over the long term, not just impress on a test drive.

The expert drive notes also support that impression, describing the truck as well sorted and easy to live with in daily use. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is less about core dependability and more about making sure the truck has the equipment and condition you want, since some examples may be missing desirable features.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 RAM 1500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The lineup spans from the basic Tradesman to the high-performance TRX, with plenty of appearance and option packages in between. Base trims are more work-focused, while higher trims bring a much more upscale cabin and more equipment.
• Powertrain: You can find a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 with eTorque, a 5.7-litre Hemi V8 with or without eTorque, and an EcoDiesel turbocharged 3.0-litre diesel V6. The diesel is the efficiency play, but it is also the priciest engine choice.
• Safety package: Blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage and rear cross-traffic alert are available starting from Big Horn trims. Higher trims can add automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability.
• Infotainment: Uconnect 5 is optional on lower trims and standard from the Sport grade. Screen size ranges from 8.4 inches to 12 inches, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included.
• Fuel efficiency: The EcoDiesel test truck was rated at 9.7 L/100 km combined, and the test loop returned 9.5 L/100 km.

Which 2022 RAM 1500 trim should I buy?

The 2022 RAM 1500 is offered in 8 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Sport, Limited, and TRX.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the most basic starting point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost path into the lineup and do not need the richer cabin or extra convenience features found higher up.
• Big Horn: This is the trim to watch if you want the best balance of equipment and value, since it unlocks important safety content like blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage and rear cross-traffic alert.
• Sport: This is the smart step-up if you want a more polished feel, because Uconnect 5 becomes standard here and the truck gains a more upscale equipment mix.
• Limited: This is the luxury-leaning choice, with the richest cabin presentation and the kind of premium features that make the RAM 1500 feel especially refined.
• TRX: This is the high-performance halo model, aimed at buyers who want the most extreme version of the truck rather than the best everyday value.

The safety package starts on Big Horn trims, so that is the key threshold to keep in mind if you want more than the basics.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 1500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you are patient.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 2,696 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,164 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 1500's resale value?

The current average of $40,164 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,062 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests buyers have more negotiating room today than they did a year ago. For a future seller, that means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, trim, and equipment than to broad market momentum alone.

The good news is that strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it is time to sell. Trucks with a reputation for comfort, refinement, and strong capability tend to stay attractive to used buyers.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 RAM 1500 safe?

The RAM 1500 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from the IIHS when equipped with all of its driver aids, and it earns a five-star overall rating from NHTSA, with four-star frontal-impact ratings for the driver and front passenger.

It earns a 6/10 safety score from our experts.

Available driver-assist features on Big Horn trims include blind-spot monitoring with trailer coverage and rear cross-traffic alert. Higher trims can add automatic high-beam headlights, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability. The Advanced Safety Group adds those features along with a head-up display, surround-view camera, rain-sensing wipers, and a parking-assistance system.

A few caveats are worth noting. The rear automatic braking system can be overly aggressive in some driveway situations, and the lane-keep assist can feel too insistent at times. That means the truck’s safety tech is useful, but not always perfectly polished in everyday use.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 1500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.84% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds Uconnect 5 and a stronger mix of available safety and tech features.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $32,672 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $40,164 CAD average.
• It adds the TRX, a high-performance off-road halo model.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $41,181 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $40,164 CAD average.
• It leans more upscale, with a premium feel and strong ride quality.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the best all-around pick if you want a strong mix of comfort, capability, and tech. If price is your top priority, the 2021 is the better value play, while the 2023 makes sense if you want a slightly newer, more refined-feeling truck.
