Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

Yes — the 5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2023 E-Class is positioned as a luxury sedan that blends comfort, technology and everyday usability, with a high-tech cabin, generous standard equipment and a broad spread of powertrains. It also suits you if you want a refined, spacious car with prestige appeal and all-weather confidence from standard 4Matic on most Canadian versions. With 32.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 E-Class is described as a well-equipped luxury car with a strong reputation for comfort and prestige, but you should still pay close attention to condition and maintenance history. Some owners have reported shuddering brakes and glitchy infotainment systems, and air suspension-equipped cars should be checked carefully because repairs can be costly. For used buyers, that means the biggest long-term ownership risk is buying a poorly maintained example with expensive repair needs.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without expecting every listing to be a bargain.

• Inventory: There are 50 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $66,362 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class's resale value?

The current average of $72,109 CAD sits slightly below last year's $78,016 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more value now, but it also means future sellers may need to price competitively if the market stays cautious. The E-Class still has strong appeal because it combines luxury, technology and everyday usability in a way many shoppers want. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.57% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $54,906 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $72,109 CAD average.
• It changed very little after a major refresh, which suits buyers who want a polished luxury car without much year-over-year upheaval.

Consider the 2024 if:

• It brings a redesign with a more elegant, technology-rich cabin and broader appeal.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the strongest mix of value, satisfaction and current-market availability. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the smarter budget-focused alternative, while the 2024 makes sense if you want the newer redesign and are willing to pay for it.
