Used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class for SaleNationwide

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class a good car?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Technology.

It’s a strong fit if you want a traditional midsize luxury-car experience with a modern cabin upgrade: the redesign keeps the understated styling, adds an elegant and technology-rich interior, and delivers refined, sophisticated, soothing road manners. The trade-offs are a high price and poor fuel economy, plus minor irritations from the driving assistance systems. Even so, the E-Class remains compelling for buyers who value premium polish and a broad menu of luxury and tech features. 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class reliable?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is presented as a polished, well-sorted luxury car, and its refined powertrains and calm ride quality support that impression. The mild-hybrid setup is designed to help improve fuel economy by easing accessory loads and adding electric assistance, which is a useful efficiency feature in day-to-day driving.

If you’re planning long-term ownership, the main risk is that this is a complex, technology-heavy luxury car, so used-buyer costs can rise if you end up needing repairs outside the warranty period.

What should I look for when buying a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic are the main sedan models, and the E 350 is the one described as the more accessible choice. The base setup already brings a premium feel, but Mercedes reserves many of the most desirable comfort, technology, and safety features for option packages, so you’ll want to check whether a given car has the equipment you expect.
• Powertrain: The E 350 4Matic uses a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder with 255 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, while the E 450 4Matic uses a turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder with 375 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. Both use a nine-speed automatic, standard 4Matic all-wheel drive, and a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.
• Safety package: The Driver Assistance Package adds 14 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centring, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation. Some of these systems can be turned off, and the lane-centring and speed-adaptation features may not suit every driver.
• Infotainment: Standard equipment includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument display and a 14.4-inch centre touchscreen, plus wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, SiriusXM, a Wi-Fi hotspot, navigation with augmented video technology, and a 17-speaker Burmester 4D surround-sound system. The available Superscreen Package adds a 12.3-inch passenger display.
• Fuel efficiency: Official fuel consumption for the E 350 is 8.6 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle returned 9.9 L/100 km.

Which 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class trim should I buy?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class is offered in 2 trim levels: E 350 4Matic and E 450 4Matic.

Here’s the short version:

• E 350 4Matic: This is the better-value choice if you want the core E-Class experience without stepping up to the pricier engine. It still gives you the standard all-wheel-drive setup, the mild-hybrid system, and the same upscale cabin and technology foundation, so it should suit most luxury buyers well.
• E 450 4Matic: Choose this if you want stronger straight-line performance and are willing to pay for it. Its six-cylinder engine delivers noticeably more power, and it’s the right pick if you want the more effortless, more premium-feeling version of the car.

The Driver Assistance Package is the key safety option to look for, since it adds the most advanced driver-assistance features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class?

• Inventory: There are 47 listings available.

Is the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class safe?

The 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Every 2024 E-Class includes numerous safety features, but if you want the full suite of advanced driver-assistance systems, you need the Driver Assistance Package. That package adds 14 technologies, including upgraded Pre-Safe pre-collision features, Active Emergency Stop Assist, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping, lane-centring, lane-change systems, Automatic Lane Change, Active Speed Limit Assist, and Route-based Speed Adaptation.

The lane-centring system can feel a little unsure on curves, and the speed-assist features can react in ways you may not always want, but the lane-keeping assist itself is impressive and the package is broadly practical for daily driving.

Should I buy a 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2024 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2024 if:

• 36.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• The redesign gives you an elegant, technology-rich cabin and a refined, sophisticated driving experience.

The bottom line: If you want the freshest take on the E-Class with the strongest blend of luxury, technology, and comfort, the 2024 is the one to target. If you’re more price-sensitive, a nearby model year may offer a similar luxury experience for less money, so it’s worth comparing listings closely before you decide.
