Used 2023 Mazda CX-5 for Sale nearNorth Vancouver, BC

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-5 cost?

Prices have softened 8.27% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 771 listings available, which suggests you should have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-5 earns a 4.9/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

Owners consistently praise its comfort, performance, and features, along with the stylish interior finish and useful heads-up display. The CX-5 also stands out for its enjoyable driving character and polished feel, which fits buyers who want a compact crossover that feels more refined than basic transportation.

The trade-offs are familiar: the back seat is cramped, cargo space is limited, and the infotainment interface is frustrating to use. In practical terms, this is a strong fit if you value style, driving enjoyment, and a premium-leaning cabin more than maximum space or the latest tech convenience.

With 31.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.9/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable, trouble-free ownership experience, with repeated praise for comfort, performance, and features that hold up well over time. The expert assessment also describes the CX-5 as a vehicle that still feels current despite its age, which supports the sense that it remains a solid long-term choice.

Mazda also backs up the CX-5 with smooth, refined, and accurate driver-assistance operation, which adds confidence in day-to-day use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about mechanical durability and more about living with the cramped packaging and frustrating infotainment system.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base version gives you the CX-5’s stylish, high-quality feel, but the most expensive versions add the surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Powertrain: The standard 2.5-litre four-cylinder makes 187 hp and is paired with a six-speed automatic and standard AWD. The available turbocharged 2.5-litre engine delivers much stronger output and a more rewarding driving experience.
• Safety package: Mazda’s i-Activsense suite is standard, and it operates in a smooth, refined, and accurate manner. Higher trims add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning alerts, an Active Driving Display, and Traffic Jam Assist.
• Infotainment: The CX-5 uses a 10.25-inch display with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Mazda Connected Services. The interface is frustrating, and the centre-console controls take time to learn.
• Fuel efficiency: The standard engine is rated at 9.0 L/100 km in combined driving, while the turbocharged engine is rated at 9.8 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-5 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-5 is offered in 6 trim levels: GX, GS, Kuro, GT, 2.5 Turbo Sport Design, and 2.5 Turbo Signature.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the entry point, and it gives you the CX-5’s core strengths: stylish design, strong safety, standard AWD, and the 187-hp engine. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model.
• GS: This is the best-value choice for most shoppers because it builds on the GX with more everyday comfort and convenience while staying closer to the mainstream side of the price range.
• Kuro: This trim is for you if you want a more distinctive look without jumping all the way to the turbo models.
• GT: This is the better pick if you want a more upscale feel and more of the CX-5’s premium-leaning equipment.
• 2.5 Turbo Sport Design: Choose this if you want the stronger turbocharged engine and a more performance-focused driving experience.
• 2.5 Turbo Signature: This is the top choice if you want the most complete CX-5, including the extra safety and parking technology that are exclusive to the highest trim.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but the most expensive versions add the most advanced driver-assistance and parking features.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-5?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so it makes sense to compare listings carefully and move quickly on the right one.

• Deal availability: 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 771 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $29,981 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-5's resale value?

The current average of $29,981 CAD sits slightly below last year's $32,685 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale values may not rebound quickly if supply stays healthy. For a seller, the current trend suggests you should expect more price sensitivity from shoppers than you would have seen a year ago. Even so, the CX-5’s strong reputation and broad appeal should help it remain competitive in the used market.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.9/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-5 safe?

The Mazda CX-5 earns five-star ratings in every assessment from NHTSA, along with a four-star rollover resistance rating, and it earns a Top Safety Pick ranking from IIHS.

It earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda’s i-Activsense suite is standard, and it includes smooth, refined, and accurate driver-assistance operation. Higher trims add blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-departure warning alerts, an Active Driving Display, and Traffic Jam Assist. The most expensive versions also add a surround-view camera system, front and rear parking sensors, rear low-speed automatic emergency braking, and Traffic Jam Assist.

One caveat is that the highest-level safety and parking features are reserved for the top trim, so you may need to shop carefully if those extras matter to you.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-5 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 8.27% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.9/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It keeps the CX-5’s stylish design, strong safety, and polished driving feel without major changes.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $27,827 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $29,981 CAD average.
• It brings a more upscale feel through updates to design and engineering.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $32,337 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $29,981 CAD average.
• It adds further refinement, better usability, and strong everyday appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price, satisfaction, and current-market availability, the 2023 is the sensible default. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is worth a look; if you want the newest refinement and can spend more, the 2024 is the better step up.
