How much does the 2023 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 10.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 223 listings available, which suggests you have some room to compare options.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Lexus RX earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

It’s aimed at you if you want a reliable, refined, safe, and stylish two-row midsize luxury SUV with a polished cabin and modern appeal. The trade-offs are a standard suspension that can feel unsettled on imperfect pavement and limited cargo space.

The market also looks reasonably healthy, with 32.7% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 RX is presented as a reliable, refined luxury crossover with a loyal following, and Lexus leans into that reputation with a comfort-first, premium approach. Its turbocharged 2.4-litre engine is described as a good choice, and it performs better at higher altitude while returning slightly better fuel economy than the outgoing V6.

Lexus also includes complimentary access to some connected services for three years on certain models, which can soften early ownership costs. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a premium SUV with advanced tech and available features can become more expensive to maintain once warranty coverage fades.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX 350 is offered with F Sport 1, Luxury, F Sport 2, Executive, Executive, and F Sport 3 trim levels. The cabin is modern and high-quality, with fewer buttons and knobs than before, and the base setup still brings a premium feel, but some versions add more upscale materials and a more complete feature set.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It’s described as a good choice overall, though it doesn’t sound as smooth and refined as the outgoing V6.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it includes lane departure warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and curve speed reduction with adaptive cruise control.
• Infotainment: Lexus Interface uses a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen, with wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, satellite radio, and connected services. Digital instrumentation is standard, and a digital rearview mirror and digital key smartphone technology are available.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 AWD is estimated at 9.9 L/100 km in combined driving.

Which 2023 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RX is offered in 6 trim levels: RX 350, F Sport 1, Luxury, F Sport 2, Executive, and F Sport 3.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core RX experience: a refined cabin, strong standard technology, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the RX’s comfort and premium feel without chasing extras.
• F Sport 1: This trim adds a sportier look and feel while keeping the RX’s comfort-first character intact. It suits you if you want a more expressive version without moving too far up the price ladder.
• Luxury: This is the best-value choice if you want the most upscale everyday experience. It builds on the RX’s premium interior with a more indulgent feel and is the trim to target if comfort matters most.
• F Sport 2: This is for you if you want more of the sporty presentation and a richer equipment mix than the lower F Sport trim. It sits in the middle of the range for shoppers who want style and substance together.
• Executive: This trim is the most obvious step up for buyers who want a more fully loaded RX with a stronger luxury focus. It’s the right pick if you want the most complete version of the standard RX 350 experience.
• F Sport 3: This is the most performance-oriented RX 350 variant described here, with adaptive damping suspension and upgraded brakes. It’s the one to choose if you want the most secure, sure-footed driving feel.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the RX lineup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 223 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $50,202 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $50,202 CAD sits slightly below last year's $56,398 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The RX’s premium positioning and strong reputation should still support demand, especially among shoppers who value comfort and refinement over flashier performance. A well-kept example with desirable equipment should remain easier to move than a less distinctive luxury SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX safe?

The 2023 RX earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it brings lane departure warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and curve speed reduction with adaptive cruise control.

It also adds Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist. One caveat is that some HUD-related controls and warnings can be awkward to interpret, especially if you wear polarized sunglasses.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned RX brings a more modern cabin, stronger tech, and a well-balanced luxury feel.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $43,698 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $50,202 CAD average.
• It’s a carryover model with minimal changes and a comfort-focused, dependable character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $55,677 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $50,202 CAD average.
• It leans harder into comfort, quietness, and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the most up-to-date RX design and tech, the 2023 is the best all-around path. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the smarter value play. If you want a newer RX with a stronger comfort-and-efficiency emphasis, the 2024 is worth a look.
