How much does the 2023 Lexus RX cost?

Prices have softened 9.99% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 224 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX a good car?

Yes — you get a 5/5 user rating and a 7.2/10 expert rating. The model scores 8/10 across Cost effectiveness and Safety.

The 2023 RX is a redesigned two-row midsize luxury SUV that leans into the qualities that have long attracted RX buyers: reliability, refinement, safety, and style. Inside, it stands out for its comfortable cabin, premium interior materials, and impressive technology, which makes it a strong fit if you want a polished luxury crossover without straying far from the RX formula.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the standard suspension can feel woozy on imperfect pavement, cargo space is limited, and the head-up display integration is poor.

With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitive offer.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The RX’s appeal is built around reliability, refinement, safety, and style, and the expert review reinforces that reputation. It is described as a loyal-following model that stays true to the RX formula while adding modern upgrades, which is exactly the kind of continuity many used buyers want.

The turbocharged 2.4-litre engine is described as a good choice, and the RX’s overall balance is presented as well judged for this latest two-row midsize luxury SUV. Lexus also says the RX 350 AWD reaches 100 kilometres per hour in roughly 7.3 seconds, which supports the sense that the powertrain is competent rather than strained.

If you’re buying used, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about choosing the right trim and equipment for the comfort and tech balance you want.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Lexus RX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The RX has a thoroughly modern interior with fewer buttons and knobs than before, plus digital instrumentation and a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen display. Base versions still leave you with less cargo space than rivals, so make sure the trim you’re considering gives you the equipment balance you want.
• Powertrain: The RX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre inline four-cylinder engine with 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It returns slightly better fuel economy than the outgoing V6, but it does not sound as smooth and refined.
• Safety package: Every 2023 RX gets Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which includes lane departure warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and a curve speed-reduction function with adaptive cruise control. Some HUD-equipped models have unmarked adaptive cruise controls, and the front cross-traffic warnings are shown on the HUD.
• Infotainment: Lexus Interface comes with a 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, satellite radio, connected services, user profiles, and available digital key smartphone technology. It also supports over-the-air-style connected services through subscription-based plans, but you cannot view multiple data panels at the same time.
• Fuel efficiency: The RX 350 AWD is estimated to average 9.9 litres per 100 kilometres in combined driving, and the testing loop returned 10.5 L/100 km and 10.8 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Lexus RX trim should I buy?

The 2023 Lexus RX is offered in 6 trim levels: RX 350, RX 350h, RX 500h, F Sport 1, Luxury, F Sport 2, Executive, and F Sport 3.

Here's the short version:

• RX 350: This is the core starting point, and it gives you the redesigned RX experience with the new cabin, the 9.8-inch or 14-inch touchscreen, and Lexus Safety System+ 3.0. It suits you if you want the RX formula without chasing extras.
• F Sport 1: This trim adds a sportier flavour to the RX 350 lineup and is a better fit if you want a more distinctive look and feel without going all the way to the upper trims.
• Luxury: This is the best-value trim if you want the most upscale everyday experience, since it leans hardest into the RX’s comfort, premium materials, and polished character.
• F Sport 2: Choose this if you want a stronger blend of style and equipment, with more of the sporty character that separates the RX from softer luxury SUVs.
• Executive: This is the trim to target if you want a more fully loaded RX with the richest comfort and technology experience.
• F Sport 3: This is the most performance-focused RX 350 trim in the review, and its adaptive damping suspension makes it feel more sure-footed and secure than the standard setup.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the range, but HUD-equipped models can make some controls harder to interpret.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Lexus RX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 224 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,576 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Lexus RX's resale value?

The current average of $49,625 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,130 CAD.

That price movement suggests the RX has become a little easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help you if you’re shopping now. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend more on condition, trim, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone.

The RX’s strong reputation for reliability, refinement, safety, and style should continue to support demand. Well-equipped examples with the right comfort and technology features are likely to remain easier to move than stripped or awkwardly optioned ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Lexus RX safe?

The 2023 RX gets Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, a robust collection of advanced driving assistance systems that includes lane departure warning, automatic high beams, blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, motorcycle detection, evasive steering assistance, intersection turn assistance with front cross-traffic alert, and a curve speed-reduction function with adaptive cruise control.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

The system also adds Proactive Driving Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and Advanced Park Assist. Proactive Driving Assist can automatically modulate the brakes to help maintain a safe following distance, Traffic Jam Assist offers hands-free low-speed driving in traffic, and Advanced Park Assist can handle parallel and perpendicular parking.

There are a few caveats to keep in mind. On HUD-equipped models, the adaptive cruise controls are unmarked, and the front cross-traffic warnings are shown on the HUD, which can be awkward if you wear polarized sunglasses. The curve-speed reduction technology is also not predictive, so it can feel abrupt in use.

Should I buy a 2023 Lexus RX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.99% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned RX brings a more modern cabin, stronger technology, and a better-balanced overall package.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $44,028 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $49,625 CAD average.
• It is a carryover with minimal changes, so you may prefer its familiar, comfort-focused character.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,852 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $49,625 CAD average.
• It leans even more into comfort, luxury, and fuel efficiency.

The bottom line: If you want the best mix of modern tech, comfort, and current-market pricing, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the more budget-friendly path.
