Is the 2023 Kia Sorento a good car?

The 2023 Kia Sorento is a solid fit if you want a family-focused midsize SUV with space, style, and a broad feature set, and its 3.7/5 user rating suggests it lands in the middle of the pack for shoppers. It is especially relevant if you want a third row, a modern cabin, and a wide spread of equipment, including available safety and convenience features on higher trims. The mix of powertrain choices also helps if you want to prioritise efficiency or stronger performance. With 34.4% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2023 Kia Sorento reliable?

The 2023 Kia Sorento is presented as a versatile SUV that blends space, technology, efficiency, and multiple powertrain options, which makes it appealing for everyday family use. Its broad equipment list and available advanced features add to its practicality, while the base engine and hybrid options give you flexibility depending on how you drive. One trade-off to keep in mind is that the blind-spot view camera system can be more distracting than helpful, especially at night. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is best managed by checking maintenance history carefully and making sure the specific trim and powertrain suit your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Kia Sorento?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer's market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.

• Deal availability: 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 273 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.71% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,510 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Kia Sorento's resale value?

The current average of $31,511 CAD sits slightly below last year's $36,947 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sorento has become more accessible for buyers, but it also means future sellers may face a softer resale environment than owners saw a year ago. If you buy now, you may benefit from the lower entry price, but you should not expect the same level of price retention that existed when values were higher. For a future seller, condition, mileage, and trim will matter even more if the market stays this way.

Should I buy a 2023 Kia Sorento or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.4% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 14.71% compared with last year.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $28,088 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $31,511 CAD average.
• It brings a redesigned cabin and hybrid options.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $37,615 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $31,511 CAD average.
• It adds a refresh with easier-to-use tech and more safety features.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want a balanced mix of price, features, and inventory. If your priority is saving money, the 2022 is the better value play; if you want newer updates and can stretch your budget, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
