Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It blends Jeep’s traditional off-road capability with a more premium, luxury-leaning character, and it offers a wide spread of configurations that range from fairly basic to genuinely upscale. In Canada, standard four-wheel drive and multiple 4WD systems give you flexibility if you want more capability or more comfort-focused equipment. With 34.5% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

The 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee is described as almost entirely new mechanically, which can be appealing if you want a more modern foundation. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is choosing a version whose equipment level and maintenance history match your expectations.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you know what you want.

• Deal availability: 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 525 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,211 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $38,216 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,258 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can help you buy more selectively today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may depend heavily on trim, condition, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Higher-spec versions with desirable features should be easier to position when it is your turn to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.5% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,830 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $38,216 CAD average.
• It offers a redesigned SUV with strong off-road ability and improved technology.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the broader equipment spread, current-market pricing context, and strong owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better value path, especially if you are comfortable giving up some of the 2023’s newer-market positioning.
