Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and it fits a buyer who wants genuine off-road ability with a more premium, luxury-leaning character than many mainstream SUVs. Jeep’s formula here combines capability and upscale features at a more attainable price than traditional luxury brands, while still keeping the brand’s off-road identity intact. For you, that means a useful mix of comfort, technology, and trail-ready hardware in one package. 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Grand Cherokee’s appeal comes from its established Jeep formula: strong capability, a premium-leaning cabin on higher trims, and a standard 3.6-litre V6 with four-wheel drive in Canada. That combination points to a vehicle built for buyers who value versatility and confidence in rough conditions. For used buyers, long-term ownership risk is mainly about choosing a well-maintained example with the equipment level and powertrain you actually want.

If you find a listing below $38,093 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $38,093 CAD sits slightly below last year's $41,260 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy in at a more favourable point, but it also means future resale gains may be more limited if the market stays soft. If you plan to sell later, the current price level suggests you should focus on condition, mileage, and equipment to protect value. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.68% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $34,291 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $38,093 CAD average.
• The redesign brings a significant upgrade in technology and sophistication.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the current-year balance of capability, premium features, and a softer market price. If you are more price-sensitive, the 2022 is the better value path because it costs less while still delivering the Grand Cherokee’s core strengths.
