Is the 2023 Jeep Cherokee a good car?

Yes — the 4.5/5 user rating points to strong owner satisfaction for this model year. The 2023 Cherokee is best suited to you if you want Jeep styling, all-weather traction, and everyday usability in a smaller crossover package. It also offers genuine capability for the segment, including available low-range hardware on some trims and a rear differential lock on the Trailhawk. With 31.8% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful market opportunity if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Jeep Cherokee reliable?

Owners rate it 4.5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Cherokee benefits from a long run of updates that improved convenience and usability over time, including more standard tech and comfort features by the end of the model’s life. At the same time, the model line has a history of transmission concerns on early third-generation versions and a reputation for poor efficiency, so you should pay close attention to service records and how the vehicle has been maintained.

For used buyers, that means long-term ownership risk is manageable if you choose carefully, but a thorough inspection and maintenance history review are especially important.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Jeep Cherokee?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 176 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.50% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $31,784 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Jeep Cherokee's resale value?

The current average of $31,786 CAD sits slightly below last year's $37,615 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can make the Cherokee more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it also means resale expectations should be set with the current softer pricing environment in mind. If demand stays steady, the model’s value should remain supported by shoppers who want Jeep character in a practical used SUV.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Jeep Cherokee or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.50% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: The 2023 Cherokee makes the most sense if you want the final-year version of this Jeep crossover with its blend of everyday usability and genuine capability. If your priority is value, the 2023 is a sensible primary target because pricing has eased and deal availability is decent. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best condition and equipment for the money.
