Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Sonata?

It looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to compare listings carefully before committing.

• Deal availability: 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 126 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,491 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Sonata's resale value?

The current average of $23,491 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,700 CAD.

That price movement suggests the Sonata is currently in a softer resale position than it was a year ago. If you plan to sell later, you may need to price competitively to stand out, especially if the market stays well supplied. On the other hand, the current softness can help you buy at a more favourable point in the cycle.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Sonata or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 27.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 12.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,448 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,491 CAD average.
• It offers strong value and quality.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the stronger current-market balance of price, inventory, and owner satisfaction. If your priority is saving money upfront, the 2022 is the better secondary path, especially if you find one in similarly good condition.
