What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Hyundai Palisade?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Preferred trim comes with cloth seats, a single sunroof, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and heated second-row seats, while the Ultimate Calligraphy adds premium Nappa leather, a dual-pane sunroof, ventilated rear seats, approach lighting, premium rear accent lighting, and a unique grille and bumper. • Powertrain: You get a single 3.8-litre V6 with 291 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive. It is tuned more for comfort and towing than rock-crawling, and it can tow up to 2,268 kilograms.

Which 2023 Hyundai Palisade trim should I buy?

The 2023 Hyundai Palisade is offered in 3 trim levels: Preferred, Urban, and Ultimate Calligraphy.

Here's the short version:

• Preferred: This is the value play if you want the Palisade’s core strengths without stretching the budget. You still get the standard safety suite, the 12.3-inch touchscreen, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and the full-size family-SUV space that makes the Palisade appealing in the first place.
• Urban: This is the best-value upgrade if you want more comfort and tech without jumping all the way to the top trim. It adds leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and the premium audio system, while also unlocking Highway Driving Assist I.
• Ultimate Calligraphy: Choose this if you want the most upscale Palisade experience. It adds premium Nappa leather, a dual-pane sunroof, ventilated rear seats, a head-up display, wireless charging, and Highway Driving Assist II, along with the most distinctive exterior and interior touches.

The safety package is strongest as you move up the range, with Highway Driving Assist I on Urban and Highway Driving Assist II on Ultimate Calligraphy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Hyundai Palisade?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare and some room to negotiate.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 365 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.81% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $38,855 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Hyundai Palisade's resale value?

The current average of $38,855 CAD sits slightly below last year's $46,153 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be good news if you are buying now but less ideal if you are planning to sell soon. A softer used-price environment usually means future resale gains may be more limited unless demand strengthens.

Even so, the Palisade’s strong equipment list and family-friendly reputation should help it remain appealing to used shoppers. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Palisade or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 15.81% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds a facelift plus more standard and optional tech and safety features.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $32,105 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $38,855 CAD average.
• It offers standard all-wheel drive and a spacious, comfortable family-focused cabin.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $42,925 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $38,855 CAD average.
• It brings an upscale feel with thoughtful amenities after the 2023 refresh.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around choice if you want the refreshed look and added tech without paying the next-year premium. If price is your main priority, the 2022 is the cheaper route; if you want the latest iteration and can spend more, the 2024 is the step up.
