The 2023 Kona’s refreshed setup and strong equipment list suggest a well-rounded ownership experience, especially if you value modern tech and a distinctive driving character. What is the 2023 Hyundai Kona's resale value?

The current average of $23,187 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,182 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more confidently now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive resale environment if prices continue to normalise. The Kona’s distinctive styling and strong equipment list should help it stay appealing to used shoppers. Its broad appeal is strongest when buyers want a compact SUV with personality rather than maximum space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,015 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,187 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and more performance.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,181 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $23,187 CAD average.
• It brings a new generation with updated tech and safety.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want a refreshed Kona with strong value and plenty of listings to compare. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the smarter budget path; if you want the newest design and technology, the 2024 is the upgrade to consider.
