The Kona’s distinctive styling and strong equipment list should help it stay appealing to used shoppers. Its broad appeal is strongest when buyers want a compact SUV with personality rather than maximum space.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Hyundai Kona or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.44% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $21,015 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $23,187 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and more performance.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $27,181 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $23,187 CAD average.
• It brings a new generation with updated tech and safety.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want a refreshed Kona with strong value and plenty of listings to compare. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the smarter budget path; if you want the newest design and technology, the 2024 is the upgrade to consider.
