Used 2023 Mazda CX-30 for SaleNationwide

How much does the 2023 Mazda CX-30 cost?

Prices have softened 4.37% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 367 listings available, which suggests you have a modest amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a 5/5 user rating and a 6.67/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

The CX-30’s appeal comes from its attractive design, classy and high-quality interior, and driving manners that are more enjoyable than many buyers expect from a subcompact SUV. It also suits you well if you want a small crossover that feels more upscale than its size suggests.

The trade-offs are clear: rear-seat space is cramped and cargo room is limited, so it is less convincing if practicality is your top priority. The infotainment system is also a weak point.

Only 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is somewhat selective rather than broadly discounted.

Is the 2023 Mazda CX-30 reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The CX-30’s reliability case is supported by its upscale, well-finished character and its strong safety reputation. The expert assessment also points to a refined driving experience and a powertrain lineup that is designed to deliver both everyday usability and stronger performance in turbocharged form.

Its performance notes also suggest a durable, confidence-inspiring setup, with standard all-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission across the range. Mazda’s cost-effectiveness notes add that the model is positioned as a premium small crossover, which can help reinforce ownership confidence if you value a more substantial-feeling vehicle.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is not mechanical drama so much as living with the CX-30’s tight rear seat, limited cargo space, and fussy infotainment.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The GX is the entry point, while the GS adds the most important everyday upgrades, including more standard safety equipment. The GT and GT Turbo bring more luxury and convenience features, but the base trim leaves you with fewer standard driver aids.
• Powertrain: The GX uses a 2.0-litre engine, the GS and GT use a 2.5-litre engine, and the GT Turbo adds a turbocharged 2.5-litre for much stronger acceleration. Fuel economy improves on the 2.5-litre models versus the previous year, and the turbo engine delivers the most performance.
• Safety package: Mazda’s safety suite includes blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert on GX, while GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. GT and GT Turbo add a surround-view camera, parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display.
• Infotainment: You get an 8.8-inch display, Bluetooth, HD Radio, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, two USB ports, and connected services. The system does not have a touchscreen, and the GT Turbo adds SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation, and a Bose premium sound system.
• Fuel efficiency: The 2.5-litre engine is rated at 8.2 L/100 km combined, and the GT Turbo averaged 10.0 L/100 km on the evaluation drive.

Which 2023 Mazda CX-30 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 is offered in 4 trim levels: GX, GS, GT, and GT Turbo.

Here's the short version:

• GX: This is the least expensive way into the CX-30, but it is also the most stripped-down on safety tech. It makes sense only if you want the lowest entry price and are comfortable adding features elsewhere.
• GS: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it adds the most important safety and convenience upgrades while keeping the CX-30’s core strengths intact.
• GT: Choose this if you want a more premium-feeling CX-30 with added driver-assistance and comfort features, plus a stronger overall equipment mix.
• GT Turbo: This is the performance-oriented choice, with the turbocharged engine and the most advanced equipment, but it commands a significant premium.

The GX trim has fewer standard safety features than the GS, while the GT and GT Turbo add the most complete safety package.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Mazda CX-30?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you should shop carefully and compare listings.

• Deal availability: 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 367 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.37% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $27,812 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Mazda CX-30's resale value?

The current average of $27,812 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,083 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the CX-30 is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may need to be realistic on asking price if you want to move the vehicle quickly.

The model’s premium positioning and strong safety reputation should help support demand, especially for well-equipped trims. Still, the limited rear-seat and cargo space may narrow the pool of shoppers compared with more practical rivals.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

The 2023 Mazda CX-30 earns a Top Safety Pick rating from IIHS.

It earns an 8/10 safety score from our experts.

Mazda improved side-impact crash protection this year with standard rear side airbags, outboard rear seatbelt tensioners, and other updates. On GX, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. GS adds adaptive cruise control, forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights.

GT and GT Turbo add an adaptive front lighting system, surround-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, automatic rear braking, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and a head-up display. The safety package is strongest on the upper trims, while GX leaves you with fewer standard driver-assistance features.

Should I buy a 2023 Mazda CX-30 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.37% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds improved side-impact protection and keeps the CX-30’s upscale, fun-to-drive character.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $24,910 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $27,812 CAD average.
• It offers an upscale cabin and refined ride with a strong focus on driving enjoyment.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $29,170 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $27,812 CAD average.
• It adds USB-C charging ports and a larger infotainment screen with wireless smartphone integration.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the best all-around pick if you want the CX-30’s improved safety, upscale feel, and strong value relative to newer pricing. If your budget is tighter, the 2022 is the better price-first alternative; if you want newer tech, the 2024 is worth a look.
