How much does the 2023 Honda Pilot cost?

Is the 2023 Honda Pilot a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Honda Pilot earns a 4.42/5 user rating and a 7.33/10 expert rating, which points to broad appeal for family buyers. The standout strength is Form and function at 10/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its spaciousness, comfortable ride, and room for up to 8 passengers, and they also like the stylish design and family-friendly practicality. The main trade-offs are that some owners found the engine underwhelming for torque and efficiency, and the infotainment system did not impress everyone.

That lines up with the Pilot’s use case as a comfortable, well-equipped three-row crossover with useful tech and an off-road-capable TrailSport model. With 29.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is also a decent amount of market value to compare.

Is the 2023 Honda Pilot reliable?

Owners rate it 4.42/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also points to a vehicle that feels dependable and easy to count on for family duty, with repeated praise for its comfortable, spacious, and trouble-free day-to-day character. The expert drive notes reinforce that impression by describing the Pilot as smooth and confidence-inspiring in normal use, with braking that is easy to modulate and a powertrain that responds quickly.

Honda’s maintenance and ownership story is also helped by the Pilot’s practical packaging and family-focused design. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that some owners have already flagged average fuel economy and modest engine performance, so you should pay close attention to how the vehicle has been driven and maintained.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Honda Pilot?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base trim gets the core family-friendly layout, but the more expensive trims add meaningful convenience and safety equipment. Heated front seats and a heated steering wheel are standard in Canada, while the stowable second-row centre seat is reserved for the more expensive Touring and Black Edition trims.
• Powertrain: You get an all-new 3.5-litre V6 with 285 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque, paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard i-VTM4 all-wheel drive in Canada. The TrailSport adds 2.5 cm of ground clearance and all-terrain tires.
• Safety package: Honda Sensing is standard on all trims and includes forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, traffic-jam assist, a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a traffic sign reader, automatic high beams, and a driver attention monitor. Front and rear parking sensors are added on the EX-L and higher trims, while the Touring trim adds surround-view and multi-view camera systems.
• Infotainment: The larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger arrive at the EX-L trim level. USB ports in every row, a multi-view camera system, a head-up display, and a fully digital instrument panel come with the Touring trim.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 11.0 L/100 km combined for the AWD Pilot, 11.8 L/100 km combined for the TrailSport, and 11.2 L/100 km combined for the Touring.

Which 2023 Honda Pilot trim should I buy?

The 2023 Honda Pilot is offered in 4 trim levels: Sport, EX-L, TrailSport, Touring.

Here's the short version:

• Sport: This is the entry point, but it is best viewed as the starting point rather than the sweet spot. You get the core Pilot experience, standard AWD in Canada, and the full Honda Sensing safety suite, but you miss out on the extra comfort and tech upgrades that make the higher trims easier to live with.
• EX-L: This is the best-value trim. It adds leather upholstery, a universal garage door opener via HomeLink, second-row sunshades, the larger touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless phone charger, making it the most balanced choice for most used buyers.
• TrailSport: Choose this if you genuinely want the off-road-capable version. It adds a 2.5 cm taller ride height, unique 18-inch wheels, chunky all-terrain tires, and underbody skid plates, but it is only worth the trade-off if you plan to use those abilities.
• Touring: This is the most feature-rich trim, with USB ports in every row, a multi-view camera system, a head-up display, a fully digital instrument panel, navigation, Bose premium audio, and remote monitor features. It is the right pick if you want the most technology and convenience.

Front and rear parking sensors are standard from the EX-L trim upward, while the Touring trim adds surround-view and multi-view camera systems.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Honda Pilot?

• Deal availability: 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 183 listings available.

What is the 2023 Honda Pilot's resale value?

The current average of $47,969 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,000 CAD.

That softer pricing can be a plus if you are buying now, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays competitive. The Pilot’s broad family appeal, roomy cabin, and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand over time. Even so, resale will likely depend on trim, condition, and whether the vehicle has the more desirable convenience and safety equipment.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.42/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Front and rear parking sensors are added on the EX-L and higher trims, while the Touring trim includes surround-view and multi-view camera systems.

Should I buy a 2023 Honda Pilot or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.75% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.42/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It brings the fully redesigned look, more power, and the off-road-capable TrailSport model.

The bottom line: If you want the most modern Pilot shape, stronger powertrain, and the TrailSport option, the 2023 is the one to target. If your priority is simply finding the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 remains the better all-around pick for shoppers who value the redesign and its added capability.
