How much does the 2023 Genesis G70 cost?

Is the 2023 Genesis G70 a good car?

Yes — the 2023 Genesis G70 earns a 4.6/5 user rating and an 8.3/10 expert rating. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Safety.

Owners consistently praise its beautiful design, performance, and value compared with other luxury brands. They also highlight the luxurious interior and powerful handling, which lines up well with the G70’s compact luxury-sedan mission.

The main trade-offs are poor fuel economy with the V6 and limited cargo space. Even so, the G70’s stylish design and easy-to-use technology make it a strong fit if you want a premium-feeling sedan that does not follow the usual formula.

With 33.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Genesis G70 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.6/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback points to a dependable-feeling car with strong value, and it also suggests that many buyers feel confident living with it over time. The expert review reinforces that impression by describing the G70 as a good value with a great chassis, ergonomic cockpit, intuitive tech, and a decent array of standard safety features.

Genesis also includes five years of scheduled maintenance with at-home vehicle pick-up and delivery, which helps reduce early ownership hassle. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that depreciation and running costs may weigh more heavily than on some rivals.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Genesis G70?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The four-cylinder models get standard 18-inch wheels, while six-cylinder models use 19-inch wheels and can be equipped with more upscale cabin materials. Leatherette seating is standard, and higher trims add leather or Nappa leather, plus features such as ventilated front seats, Brembo brakes, and a power sunroof.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 252-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder and a 365-horsepower twin-turbo V6. Both engines require premium fuel to make maximum power, and the eight-speed automatic is standard across the range.
• Safety package: Standard driver aids include forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams, rear-seat reminder, safe-exit assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Upper trims add front and rear park distance control, rain-sensing wipers, and a blind-spot view camera system.
• Infotainment: The standard system uses a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but wireless smartphone mirroring is not available. It also lacks a fully digital instrument cluster and the more advanced voice recognition found in some rivals.
• Fuel efficiency: The four-cylinder is rated at 11.4 L/100 km in city driving, 8.2 L/100 km on the highway, and 10.0 combined. The V6 is rated at 13.5 L/100 km city, 9.1 highway, and 11.5 combined.

Which 2023 Genesis G70 trim should I buy?

The 2023 Genesis G70 is offered in 6 trim levels: Select, Advanced, Prestige, Advanced, Sport, and Sport.

Here's the short version:

• Select: This is the entry point, and it gives you the core G70 experience with standard all-wheel drive, the 10.25-inch touchscreen, and a strong safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the model and can live without the richer cabin materials and extra convenience features found higher up.
• Advanced: This is the best-value trim if you want a more complete luxury feel without jumping straight to the top. It adds more equipment and is also the starting point for the V6, so it suits you if you want a better balance of features and performance.
• Prestige: Choose this if you want the more upscale cabin presentation and the richer equipment mix that comes with the higher trim ladder. It is the better fit if comfort and luxury touches matter more than keeping the purchase price down.
• Sport: This is the most performance-focused choice in the range, pairing the V6 with the most complete equipment set described here. It suits you best if you want the strongest powertrain and the most premium-feeling version of the G70.

The safety package is generous across the lineup, but some convenience and visibility features are reserved for upper trims.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Genesis G70?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers.

• Deal availability: 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 72 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.64% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $36,208 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Genesis G70's resale value?

The current average of $36,516 CAD sits slightly below last year's $40,867 CAD.

That price movement suggests the G70 has already absorbed a meaningful amount of depreciation. For a future seller, that can be a double-edged sword: the car may be easier to buy at a reasonable price now, but resale upside is likely to depend on how well you maintain it and how desirable the trim and powertrain are.

Because the market has softened, buyers may continue to expect value rather than pay a premium. That means well-equipped examples in strong condition should stand out more than basic ones.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.6/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Genesis G70 safe?

The 2023 G70 earns the IIHS’s highest Top Safety Pick+ award.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Genesis equips the G70 with a broad standard safety suite that includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, a driver-attention monitor, automatic high beams, rear-seat reminder, safe-exit assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Upper trims add front and rear park distance control, rain-sensing wipers, and a blind-spot view camera system.

One caveat is that Highway Driving Assist requires you to keep your hands on the wheel at all times, and the lane centring can feel less smooth than some rivals. The G70 also lacks a fully digital instrument cluster, which limits how much driver-aid information can be shown at once.

Should I buy a 2023 Genesis G70 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 33.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.6/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It carries over unchanged after the 2022 update, so you get the refreshed design and standard Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $31,083 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $36,516 CAD average.
• It adds the refreshed styling, improved infotainment, and Highway Driving Assist.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $40,518 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $36,516 CAD average.
• It adds a new, more powerful base engine and sharper overall appeal.

The bottom line: If you want the best balance of price and freshness, the 2023 is the sweet spot. If your priority is spending less, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newest powertrain and can pay more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
