How much does the 2023 Ford Bronco cost?

Prices have softened 11.17% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 437 listings available, which suggests you have a decent amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco a good car?

Generally — 4.3/5 from owners, which points to strong satisfaction with this model year. The expert rating is 8.00/10. The model scores 9/10 across Look and feel, Performance, and Form and function.

Owners repeatedly praise the Bronco’s off-road capability, comfort, and features, and they also like its rugged design and engaging driving experience. The trade-offs are familiar ones: pricing can feel high, and fuel efficiency and cargo practicality are common concerns.

That fits the Bronco’s role as a vehicle for buyers who want something that can handle both highway driving and serious off-road use. With 29.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there are still some attractive opportunities if you shop carefully.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also points to a vehicle people feel good about living with over time, with praise for its comfort and features alongside its rugged appeal.

The Bronco’s performance and durability-focused engineering support that impression, and the expert review notes that its off-road hardware is built for demanding use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic dependability and more about accepting the Bronco’s compromises in fuel use and practicality.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Base trim has a decidedly bare-bones look with steel wheels and little adornment, while higher trims add more personality and capability. The lineup also includes the Heritage Edition with a throwback grille, roof, and wheels, plus the more capable Heritage Limited Edition.
• Powertrain: The Bronco is available with a 2.3-litre four-cylinder, an optional 2.7-litre V6, and a 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 in Raptor form. The base engine is described as more than adequate, while the V6 can be a better fit for the heavier four-door model.
• Safety package: All Bronco models come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, but it is not available on the Base model.
• Infotainment: Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ford’s SYNC 4, and FordPass Connect are standard. Most Broncos come with an eight-inch touchscreen, while a 12-inch display is available and easier to use.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates the four-cylinder engine at as little as 11.6 L/100 km in combined driving and as high as 14.3 L/100 km depending on equipment. The 2.7-litre V6 is rated between 12.0 and 14.1 L/100 km, while the Raptor is estimated at 15.3 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Ford Bronco trim should I buy?

The 2023 Ford Bronco is offered in 9 trim levels: Base, Big Bend, Black Diamond, Bronco Outer Banks, Bronco Badlands, Heritage Edition, Bronco Wildtrak, Heritage Limited Edition, and Raptor.

Here's the short version:

• Base: This is the most stripped-back Bronco, with steel wheels and a simple, rugged look. It makes sense if you want the entry point to the lineup, but it misses some of the convenience and safety upgrades found higher up.
• Big Bend: This trim sits early in the range and is a sensible step up if you want more equipment without chasing the most expensive versions.
• Black Diamond: This is the best-value trim in the lineup, because the expert review calls it a good middle ground and suggests adding the Sasquatch package for its off-road upgrades.
• Bronco Outer Banks: Choose this if you want a more polished take on the Bronco’s rugged formula.
• Bronco Badlands: This trim is aimed at buyers who want stronger off-road focus and more capability than the lower trims.
• Heritage Edition: This is the style pick, with retro-inspired details like the white grille, roof, and wheels, plus plaid seat upholstery.
• Bronco Wildtrak: This trim suits shoppers who want a more capability-focused Bronco without going all the way to the top.
• Heritage Limited Edition: This is the more capable version of the Heritage theme, combining nostalgia with added ability.
• Raptor: This is the top-end choice, with a wide stance, elevated height, and massive tires for buyers who want the most extreme Bronco presence.

The Mid package is not available on the Base trim, so safety-feature shoppers should keep that in mind.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Ford Bronco?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can afford to be choosy.

• Deal availability: 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 437 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $49,277 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Ford Bronco's resale value?

The current average of $49,517 CAD sits slightly below last year's $55,742 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you as a buyer today, but it also means a future seller may need to be realistic about expectations if the market stays cool. The Bronco’s broad appeal and strong owner satisfaction should help support demand, especially for well-equipped examples in desirable trims. Even so, resale will likely depend on condition, mileage, and how closely the vehicle matches what shoppers want in a Bronco.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Ford Bronco safe?

The 2023 Ford Bronco earns four-star ratings in frontal crash and three-star ratings for rollover protection from NHTSA, while the IIHS gave the four-door model Good scores in all crashworthiness tests except head restraints and seats, where it received Acceptable.

It earns a 5/10 safety score from our experts.

All Bronco models come standard with forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, hill-start assist, hill-descent control, trailer-sway assist, and Trail Turn Assist. The Mid package adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, lane-keep assist, rear parking proximity sensors, and automatic high beams, while the High package adds front parking sensors and a 360-degree camera system. The Luxe package adds adaptive cruise control and evasive steering assist.

The main caveat is that advanced safety features are not standard across the lineup, so you may need to move up from the Base trim to get more of the driver-assistance equipment you want.

Should I buy a 2023 Ford Bronco or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• Heritage-inspired variants add fresh style to an already broad lineup.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $40,160 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $49,517 CAD average.
• It offers serious off-road ability with strong everyday drivability.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $53,342 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $49,517 CAD average.
• It adds a standard 12-inch Sync 4 infotainment system and other updates.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the right pick if you want the Bronco’s broad trim range and improved value trend. If price matters most, the 2022 is the smarter budget path, while the 2024 suits you if you want the newer infotainment and updates.
