Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD a good car?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD stands out as a heavy-duty pickup built for serious work rather than everyday car-like manners. It has aggressive styling with a huge bluff front end, and its capability is equally imposing: maximum towing reaches 16,300 kilograms, payload tops out at 3,300 kilograms, and the truck can be configured with a single cab, rear-drive, dual-rear-wheel layout and a gooseneck hitch for its highest ratings.

For buyers, the Silverado 3500HD’s biggest strengths are its towing hardware, available technology, and practical trailering features. Chevrolet includes 12 cargo tie-downs, the Multi-Flex Tailgate across all trim levels, and a power up/down tailgate that is unique in its segment. It also offers a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and SiriusXM satellite radio, along with available safety equipment such as blind spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alerts, park assist, and adaptive cruise control with trailer monitoring.

The main trade-offs are familiar for a truck this capable: it is expensive, the cabin can feel basic compared with some rivals, and the diesel versions cost more. With 31.0% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop carefully if you want stronger value.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD is presented as a heavy-duty pickup that is built around serious capability rather than everyday softness. It backs that up with major towing and payload numbers, plus a broad spread of trims, body styles, and trailering-focused equipment that should suit buyers who need a truck for demanding work.

Chevrolet also gives you two proven V8 choices, an Allison ten-speed automatic transmission, and a useful set of available driver-assistance and trailering features. That combination points to a truck designed for hard use, but long-term ownership risk still depends on how heavily you plan to tow, haul, and equip it.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD?

This looks like a moderate market where you can be selective, especially if you are comparing multiple listings and not rushing into the first truck you see.

• Deal availability: 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 168 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.61% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $66,883 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD's resale value?

The current average of $68,672 CAD sits slightly below last year's $71,241 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has eased a bit, which can help you buy with less pressure today. For a future seller, it also means resale value may be more sensitive to condition, mileage, and equipment than to broad market momentum alone. If you keep the truck well maintained and spec it with desirable towing features, you should be in a better position when it is time to sell.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 31.0% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.61% compared with last year.

The bottom line: The 2023 is a strong choice if you want heavy-duty capability and a market that has softened a bit, especially if you can find a well-equipped truck near the lower end of the price range. If you are more price-sensitive, it is worth comparing nearby model years to see whether a similar truck offers a better entry point, but the 2023 remains the primary path if you want the best balance of current pricing and available inventory.

How does the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 3500HD compare to the 2023 Ford F-350 Super Duty?

The Silverado 3500HD comes in at a lower average used price, while the F-350 Super Duty offers more listings and a slightly higher share of good and great deals. If you want the lower entry price, the Chevrolet has the edge; if you want more inventory to choose from, the Ford gives you more options.
