Is the 2023 RAM 3500 a good car?

Generally — the 2023 RAM 3500 earns a 4/5 user rating, and its appeal is strongest if you want a heavy-duty truck that still feels comfortable and well equipped for everyday use. The overview points to a strong mix of serious capability, a more aerodynamic design, LED lighting, a stronger frame, new suspension, and a new transmission for Hemi models, along with an upscale cabin and available tech such as a 360-degree camera, adaptive cruise control, and a 12-inch vertical infotainment system.

That combination makes it a good fit if you want a work-focused truck that does not feel stripped down. 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 RAM 3500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently but should move quickly on the right truck.

• Deal availability: 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2023 RAM 3500's resale value?

The current average of $68,857 CAD sits slightly below last year's $75,811 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled a bit, which can make the truck more attractive to you as a buyer today. For a future seller, it means resale value may depend more on condition, mileage, and equipment than on broad market momentum alone. If you buy well now and keep the truck in strong shape, you may be better positioned when it is time to sell.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 RAM 3500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 35.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.17% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.

The bottom line: If you want the strongest mix of capability, comfort, and current-market value, the 2023 is the year to focus on. If your priority is stretching your budget further, a nearby year may be worth comparing, but the 2023 stands out as the more balanced choice for shoppers who want heavy-duty strength without giving up too much refinement.
