Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.75/5 is a strong user rating for this model year, and the Silverado 2500HD’s appeal is easy to see if you want a heavy-duty truck that still offers a broad range of equipment. The overview points to serious towing ability, a modern cabin, useful trailering technology, and a wide choice of cab and bed configurations, so it suits buyers who need work-ready capability without giving up everyday convenience. 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.75/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The overview also points to a truck built around durability, with a fully boxed frame made from seven different types of steel and a design focused on hard work. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its size, fuel use, and work-truck mission can make wear-and-tear costs more relevant than they would be on a lighter-duty pickup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 262 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $58,887 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $62,034 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,077 CAD.

That softer pricing can help you buy more truck for the money today, but it also means future resale values may stay under pressure if the market remains well supplied. If you plan to sell later, buying near the lower end of the range gives you more room to absorb depreciation. Strong demand for heavy-duty trucks can still support values, especially when the truck has the equipment and condition buyers want.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 34.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $69,469 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $62,034 CAD average.
• The refresh adds better styling and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line:
Choose the 2023 if you want the better value and are focused on capability, equipment, and a lower entry price. Consider the 2024 if you want the updated styling and can justify paying more for the newer refresh. If you are price-sensitive, the 2023 is the smarter starting point.
