The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is aimed at buyers who need serious heavy-duty capability, but it still offers a broad range of equipment that makes it usable every day. The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is built around a fully boxed frame made from seven different types of steel, which Chevrolet says is 20% stiffer than before. It is also designed with heavy-duty use in mind, with strong towing capability and a broad equipment list that supports daily usability. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that its size and heavy-duty nature can make upkeep and everyday use more demanding than a lighter pickup.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully without feeling rushed.

• Deal availability: 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $61,112 CAD sits slightly below last year's $66,168 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can make the truck more attractive to used buyers today. For a future seller, it also means you may need to price competitively if you want to stand out. The good news is that strong demand for capable heavy-duty trucks can help support values when the truck is well equipped and properly maintained.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.75/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 30.1% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 7.64% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.75/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $68,958 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $61,112 CAD average.
• It adds better styling and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: Choose the 2023 if you want the better value and are focused on capability for the money. If you can stretch your budget and want the newer styling and added off-road appeal, the 2024 is the stronger upgrade. For price-sensitive buyers, the 2023 is the smarter starting point.
