Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD a good car?

Yes — 4.8/5 is a strong user rating for a heavy-duty truck, and the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD backs that up with serious capability and a broad range of equipment. It is aimed at buyers who need more than a light-duty pickup can offer, but it still includes everyday conveniences that make it easier to live with. The aggressive styling gives it a distinctive look, while the fully boxed frame and wide range of cab and bed configurations add to its appeal for work and towing use.

With 32.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a decent chance of finding a competitively priced example.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is built around a fully boxed frame made from seven different types of steel, and Chevrolet says it is 20% stiffer than before. That kind of underlying structure, combined with its heavy-duty focus and broad equipment list, suggests a truck designed for demanding use rather than casual duty.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about basic capability and more about whether the truck’s size and workload history match your needs.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD?

This is a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 282 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.02% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $58,887 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD's resale value?

The current average of $61,809 CAD sits slightly below last year's $65,079 CAD.

That softer pricing can work in your favour if you buy now, but it also means future sellers may need to be realistic when setting an asking price. The current trend suggests the market is rewarding value more than premium positioning, especially for a heavy-duty truck with a wide spread of listings.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 5.02% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $68,368 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $61,809 CAD average.
• It adds a refreshed look and a new off-road trim.

The bottom line: If you want the better value today, the 2023 is the smarter primary choice because pricing has eased and deal availability is decent. If you are willing to spend more for the refreshed styling and added off-road focus, the 2024 is the better secondary path.
