How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.09% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 258 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

It’s a strong choice if you want a midsize truck with a clear focus on capability, technology, and rugged styling, though some compromises are hard to ignore. The user rating is 3/5, and the expert rating is 6.5/10.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Chevrolet gives the Colorado a practical, crew-cab, short-bed layout, and the truck’s payload and towing figures make it appealing if you need real utility. The trade-offs are the cheap-feeling interior materials and the aggravating forward collision warning system, while fuel economy is also a weak point.

The market shows 29.8% of listings as good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Colorado is built around a modern turbocharged four-cylinder setup and a straightforward truck formula, which supports its appeal for everyday use and heavier-duty tasks alike. The expert review also highlights strong structural rigidity and a composed ride on pavement.

The powertrain is described as satisfyingly quick, and the truck’s hardware is presented as robustly engineered for both road and off-road use. The cost-effectiveness commentary also notes that the Colorado is fundamentally appealing, even if fuel use and cabin quality are weaker points.

If you plan to keep one long term, the biggest ownership risk is that the same safety-system annoyance and fuel-cost burden could wear on you over time.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base Work Truck trim gets the core tech and safety gear, but the cabin is described as basic and cheap-feeling, while higher trims add nicer cabins and more body-colour detailing.
• Powertrain: Every Colorado uses a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine, with 237 horsepower in WT and LT trims and 310 horsepower in Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 models.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional upgrades include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in, wireless Apple CarPlay, wireless Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, OnStar, Chevrolet connected services, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Fuel efficiency: The Trail Boss is rated at 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and testing returned 13.8 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the entry point, but it still gets the core digital instrumentation, the 11.3-inch touchscreen, and the standard safety suite. It makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the redesigned Colorado and can live with the plainest cabin.
• LT: This is the best-value trim if you want the Colorado’s modern tech and a more complete everyday setup without jumping into the off-road-focused models. It also adds more powertrain flexibility than WT.
• Trail Boss: This is the sweet spot if you want the Colorado’s rugged character, with a suspension lift, all-terrain tyres, hill descent control, and stronger off-road hardware. It suits you best if you want capability first.
• Z71: This trim adds more power and all-terrain capability while staying less extreme than the ZR2. It’s a good fit if you want a more balanced mix of road manners and trail ability.
• ZR2: This is the most capable and most specialised version, with the high-output engine, a larger driver display, mud-terrain tyres, and exclusive off-road hardware. Choose it if off-road performance is your priority.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the range, but the optional driver-assistance upgrades are worth checking for on used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 258 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.09% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $43,006 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $43,006 CAD sits slightly below last year's $45,793 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Colorado has become a more approachable used buy than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that means you may face some pressure if the market stays soft and inventory remains healthy. On the other hand, the truck’s strong feature content and capability should help it hold appeal with shoppers who want a rugged midsize pickup.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado does not have a crash-test result cited here, but it does come with a standard suite of driver-assistance features through Chevy Safety Assist.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

That standard package includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. OnStar also adds SOS emergency calling and automatic crash notification, while Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive are included as well.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which is described as overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. Optional safety upgrades are available, but they are not standard.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.8% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.09% compared with last year.
• The 2023 brings a redesigned cabin, strong tech, and clear off-road focus.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,354 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $43,006 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined, easy-to-use controls setup.

The bottom line: The 2023 is the better pick if you want the redesigned Colorado at a lower used price and can live with its compromises. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model-year experience, the 2024 is the alternative to watch.
