Used 2023 Toyota Tacoma for Sale nearLondon, ON

How much does the 2023 Toyota Tacoma cost?

Prices have softened 3.92% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 404 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tacoma a good car?

Generally — the 2023 Toyota Tacoma earns a 4.3/5 user rating and a 7.3/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Look and feel at 9/10.

Owners repeatedly praise its reliability, sturdy build, and strong resale value, while also highlighting its off-road capability and versatile character. The Tacoma’s appeal is especially clear if you want a truck that feels tough, familiar, and well suited to both everyday use and weekend adventures.

The trade-offs are just as consistent: the cabin can feel tight, and the technology is dated compared with newer rivals. For buyers who value proven durability and a distinctive truck personality over modern polish, that balance may work well.

Only 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals, so the market is selective rather than especially bargain-heavy.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tacoma reliable?

Owners rate it 4.3/5, a solid signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, dependability, and a truck you can count on over time. The expert assessment also reinforces that reputation by describing the Tacoma as having a hard-earned reputation for bullet-proof reliability.

Toyota’s ownership appeal is helped by the Tacoma’s durable character and straightforward mechanical setup, and the truck’s reputation for long-term toughness remains a major draw. For used buyers, the main ownership risk is that age-related compromises in comfort, technology, and refinement may matter more as the kilometres add up.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Toyota Tacoma?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Tacoma ranges from the base standard package through SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, Trail Special Edition, and Nightshade Edition. Base trim is spartan, while higher trims add more comfort and equipment; the TRD Pro stands out with underbody skid pads, a TRD-tuned suspension, a locking rear differential, 16-inch alloy wheels, a TRD sport exhaust, and unique exterior details.
• Powertrain: In Canada, the Tacoma comes with a standard 3.5-litre V6 and standard 4WD. It is not especially quick, and the truck can feel noisy and a bit vague on paved roads, especially in off-road-oriented trims.
• Safety package: Toyota Safety Sense includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, and automatic high beams. Blind-spot monitoring, rear- and side parking distance sensors, and a surround-view camera appear on the TRD Pro, while lane-keeping assist and rear automatic emergency braking are not included.
• Infotainment: Base trims use a 7-inch touchscreen, while higher trims get an 8-inch screen. Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM are included, and wireless charging is available on higher trims.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada estimates 13.0 L/100 km in city driving, 10.5 L/100 km on the highway, and 11.9 combined. Manual-transmission models are rated at 13.8/11.4/12.7 L/100 km, while TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro versions rise slightly to 13.8/11.7/12.9 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Toyota Tacoma trim should I buy?

The 2023 Toyota Tacoma is offered in 6 trim levels: standard package, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, TRD Pro, Trail Special Edition, and Nightshade Edition.

Here's the short version:

• standard package: This is the most basic Tacoma, and it suits you if you want the truck’s core toughness without paying for extra comfort or appearance upgrades.
• SR5: This is the sensible step up if you want a more rounded daily driver while staying close to the Tacoma’s traditional formula.
• TRD Sport: This trim adds a more polished, street-friendly feel and is a good fit if you want a better-equipped Tacoma without going full off-road.
• TRD Off-Road: This is the better choice if you want the Tacoma’s rugged side and plan to spend more time away from pavement.
• TRD Pro: This is the best fit if off-road capability is your priority and you want the most serious hardware in the lineup.
• Trail Special Edition: This suits you if you want a more adventure-flavoured Tacoma with a distinct look and a broader equipment mix.
• Nightshade Edition: This is the style-focused choice if you want a more distinctive appearance rather than maximum capability.

The safety package is standard across the lineup, but higher trims add more driver-assistance and parking aids.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Toyota Tacoma?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, with enough inventory to compare options carefully.

• Deal availability: 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 404 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.92% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $47,313 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Toyota Tacoma's resale value?

The current average of $48,032 CAD sits slightly below last year's $49,990 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Tacoma has become a little easier to buy than it was a year ago, which can help future sellers by keeping demand accessible. Even with the recent decline, the model’s reputation for reliability and strong owner satisfaction should continue to support used-market interest.

For a seller, that means the Tacoma still has meaningful brand and model loyalty behind it, even if pricing is no longer at its peak. Well-kept examples should remain attractive to shoppers who want a durable truck with a proven reputation.

Vehicles with solid owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.3/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2023 Toyota Tacoma safe?

The 2023 Toyota Tacoma was not awarded a Top Safety Pick award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), and it earns a four-star overall rating from NHTSA, with five-star ratings in side-impact tests and lower marks in frontal crash and rollover tests.

It earns a 7/10 safety score from our experts.

Toyota Safety Sense includes automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure alert, and automatic high beams. Higher trims can add blind-spot monitoring, rear- and side parking distance sensors, and a surround-view camera.

The main safety caveat is that the Tacoma lacks lane-keeping assist and rear automatic emergency braking, and its crash-test results trail the best performers in the segment.

Should I buy a 2023 Toyota Tacoma or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 32.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 3.92% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.3/5 — a solid satisfaction signal.
• It combines strong reliability with genuine off-road capability and a distinctive truck personality.

Consider the 2022 if:

• At $43,509 CAD, the 2022 costs less than the current year's $48,032 CAD average.
• It offers strong off-road ability and useful everyday versatility.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $52,958 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $48,032 CAD average.
• It brings a full redesign with a more modern platform and standard advanced driver-assistance tech.

The bottom line: If you want the proven, familiar Tacoma formula at a softer price than last year, the 2023 is the balanced choice. If you are especially price-sensitive, the 2022 is the value play; if you want the newest hardware and can spend more, the 2024 is the upgrade path.
