Used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado for Sale near Nova Scotia

How much does the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado cost?

Prices have softened 6.12% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 259 listings available, which gives you a solid amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado a good car?

With a 3/5 user rating and an expert rating of 6.5/10, the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado looks like a capable but imperfect choice for you if you want a midsize truck with a clear identity.

The standout strength is Technology at 9/10.

Chevrolet aimed this truck at buyers who want a practical, rugged crew-cab, short-bed pickup with modern instrumentation, infotainment, connectivity, and safety tech even in the base trim. It also brings strong payload and towing capability, plus a design that leans into off-road appeal.

The trade-offs are worth weighing: the interior materials can feel cheap, and the forward collision warning system can be aggravating. Fuel economy is another weak point, especially if you expect efficiency from a midsize truck.

With 29.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado reliable?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado’s appeal is tied to its robust engineering and broad capability, but its ownership experience depends heavily on how you feel about its tech and safety behaviour.

Chevrolet’s turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder powertrain is described as supplying plenty of power, and the truck is presented as a fundamentally appealing midsize pickup with an attractive value equation. The expert review also notes that the truck is built to handle more than daily commuting, which supports its long-term usefulness if you want a versatile used truck.

On the cost side, the review points out that the Colorado’s fuel economy can be disappointing, so running costs may be higher than you expect over time. For used buyers, the biggest long-term risk is living with a truck whose safety tech and fuel consumption may become ongoing frustrations.

What should I look for when buying a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The WT is the most basic version, and it lacks some of the visual polish and equipment found on higher trims. The LT, Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 add more body-colour treatment and nicer cabins, while the Trail Boss also gets a purposeful front skid plate.
• Powertrain: Every version uses a turbocharged 2.7-litre four-cylinder engine. WT and LT models make 237 horsepower, while Trail Boss, Z71, and ZR2 models use the more powerful 310-horsepower version.
• Safety package: Chevy Safety Assist is standard and includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. Optional features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors.
• Infotainment: Every Colorado gets an 11.3-inch touchscreen with Google Built-in and digital instrumentation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and wireless Android Auto are standard, and the system also supports OTA-style connected updates through Google-based services.
• Fuel efficiency: The official Natural Resources Canada fuel economy rating for the Colorado Trail Boss is 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres combined, and testing returned 13.8 L/100 km.

Which 2023 Chevrolet Colorado trim should I buy?

The 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is offered in 5 trim levels: WT, LT, Trail Boss, Z71, ZR2.

Here's the short version:

• WT: This is the value-focused starting point, and it already gives you the core tech and safety equipment. It makes the most sense if you want the lowest entry price and can live without the extra polish and capability upgrades.
• LT: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it adds more refinement while keeping the Colorado’s core strengths intact. It’s the trim to target if you want a more balanced daily driver without jumping too far up the price ladder.
• Trail Boss: This is the one to choose if you want the Colorado’s off-road character to be front and centre. It adds a suspension lift, all-terrain tyres, and more rugged hardware, making it the right fit if you plan to leave pavement often.
• Z71: This trim builds on the off-road-oriented formula with more power and a more capable setup than the lower trims. It suits you if you want stronger performance and a more premium-feeling Colorado without going all the way to the top.
• ZR2: This is the most extreme version, with the highest off-road capability and the most specialised hardware. It’s the right pick if off-road performance matters more to you than value.

Chevy Safety Assist is standard across the range, but optional ADAS features are still worth checking for on used examples.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2023 Chevrolet Colorado?

This is a moderate market for selective buyers, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 259 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $42,962 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado's resale value?

The current average of $42,966 CAD sits slightly below last year's $45,765 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the Colorado has become a bit easier to buy than it was a year ago. If you’re a future seller, that means you may face more price sensitivity from shoppers than owners did previously.

The current range also shows that values are still holding within a fairly tight band, which can help support resale stability if your truck is well equipped and well maintained. For used buyers, that makes the Colorado a model where condition and trim choice should matter a lot in the price you’re willing to pay.

Is the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado safe?

The 2023 Colorado earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Chevy Safety Assist is the standard driver-assistance suite, and it includes forward collision warning with pedestrian and cyclist detection, automatic emergency braking, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, and automatic high-beam headlights. OnStar also adds SOS emergency calling and automatic crash notification, while Teen Driver and Buckle to Drive add family-focused safety tools.

The main caveat is the forward collision warning system, which the expert review describes as overly sensitive and prone to false alerts. Optional safety features such as adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with active steering assist, rear cross-traffic and pedestrian alert with automatic braking, and rear parking sensors are not standard.

Should I buy a 2023 Chevrolet Colorado or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2023 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2023 if:

• 29.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.12% compared with last year.
• The year’s redesign gives you strong tech, off-road focus, and a clear truck identity.

Consider the 2024 if:

• At $47,293 CAD, the 2024 costs more than the current year's $42,966 CAD average.
• It adds a more refined, lifestyle-focused character with easier-to-use controls.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2023 is the smarter buy because it delivers the redesigned Colorado experience at a lower average price. If you’re willing to pay more for a newer model with a more polished feel, the 2024 is the better secondary path.
