How much does the 2022 Toyota Camry cost?

Prices have softened 9.47% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 112 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry a good car?

Yes — the 2022 Toyota Camry earns a 4.88/5 user rating and a 7.17/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 9/10.

Owners consistently praise its reliability, fuel efficiency, comfortable interior, and value for money. That lines up well with the Camry’s role as a roomy, efficient, safe, and affordable midsize sedan for everyday use. The market also shows 23.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals, which adds to the appeal if you’re shopping carefully.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry reliable?

Owners rate it 4.88/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

Owner feedback repeatedly points to reliability, and the broader review summary also highlights the Camry’s dependable nature and trouble-free ownership appeal. On the road, the expert evaluation reinforces that impression with language about the car feeling solid, secure, and well engineered. Toyota also includes complimentary trial periods for subscription-based services, which is a small ownership perk.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic dependability and more about choosing the right trim and condition, especially if you want stronger features or a more refined powertrain.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The Camry lineup includes a wide spread of versions, and the base LE starts with standard heated side mirrors while blind-spot monitoring is not standard on LE and SE. If you want more convenience and safety equipment, higher trims add more of it.
• Powertrain: You can choose a four-cylinder engine, a V6 engine, or a fuel-efficient gas-electric hybrid powertrain. The TRD uses a 3.5-litre V6 with 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
• Safety package: Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the Camry TRD and XSE, but it is optional on LE and SE.
• Infotainment: The standard system is a 7-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, and SiriusXM satellite radio. Camry XSE and TRD buyers get a 9-inch touchscreen, and the TRD adds a 9-speaker JBL premium audio system on V6 offerings.
• Fuel efficiency: The Camry TRD is rated at 9.4 L/100 km in combined driving, and the review notes that hybrid versions can use less than 5 litres of fuel per 100 kilometres in combined driving.

Which 2022 Toyota Camry trim should I buy?

The 2022 Toyota Camry is offered in 13 trim levels: LE, SE, XLE, XSE, TRD, SE Hybrid, XLE Hybrid, XSE Hybrid, LE AWD, SE AWD, XLE AWD, XSE AWD, and XSE V6.

Here's the short version:

• LE: This is the entry point, so it makes sense if you want the lowest-cost way into the Camry lineup and are comfortable with a simpler equipment list.
• SE: This is the best-value choice for many shoppers because it keeps the Camry affordable while giving you a more appealing step up in equipment and character than the LE.
• XLE: Choose this if you want a more upscale-feeling Camry and are willing to pay more for added comfort and refinement.
• XSE: This is the better pick if you want a sportier look and more equipment, including the larger 9-inch touchscreen and standard blind-spot monitoring.
• TRD: Pick this if you want the most performance-focused Camry, with the V6, track-tuned suspension, bigger brakes, and aggressive styling.

Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ is standard across the lineup, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE but optional on LE and SE.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Toyota Camry?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you’re patient.

• Deal availability: 23.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 112 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.47% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $26,095 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Toyota Camry's resale value?

The current average of $26,262 CAD sits slightly below last year's $29,010 CAD.

That price decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means sellers may need to price competitively to stand out. If you own one now, the Camry’s broad appeal should still help support demand, especially because shoppers continue to value its reliability, efficiency, and safety. The current pricing trend points to a softer resale environment than a year ago, so condition, mileage, and trim will matter more when you go to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.88/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Toyota Camry safe?

The 2022 Camry earns a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and five-star ratings in every single evaluation the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) performs.

It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Every Camry has Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+, which includes adaptive cruise control and lane-centring assistance. Toyota also includes Safety Connect on every 2022 Camry, with automatic collision notification, an emergency assistance button, roadside assistance access, and a stolen vehicle locator. Blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is standard on the TRD and XSE, but optional on LE and SE.

One caveat is that the lane-keeping and adaptive cruise systems can sometimes feel overly intrusive or overly cautious in real-world driving.

Should I buy a 2022 Toyota Camry or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 23.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 9.47% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.88/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It combines roomy practicality with strong safety and a broad trim walk.

Consider the 2021 if:

• At $23,845 CAD, the 2021 costs less than the current year's $26,262 CAD average.
• It offers more choices, including three powertrains and available AWD.

The bottom line: If you want the stronger overall mix of value, safety, and owner satisfaction, the 2022 is the better default choice. If your priority is spending less up front, the 2021 is the smarter budget-focused alternative, especially if you find one in good condition with the equipment you want.
