Is the 2022 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 2500 earns a 4.81/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfortable ride, and excellent interior features, and many also value its towing capability and reliability. Is the 2022 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.81/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, with many drivers describing it as dependable and a truck they can count on for work or leisure. That kind of praise matters if you plan to keep the truck for the long haul, especially in a heavy-duty segment where durability is a major part of the ownership experience. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is paying too much for a truck that may have seen hard use.

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop with some leverage if you stay disciplined.

• Inventory: There are 314 listings available.

If you find a listing below $56,259 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $56,805 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,971 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you as a buyer today but may limit upside if you plan to resell soon. If you buy at the right price, you reduce the chance of taking a bigger depreciation hit later. Strong owner satisfaction can help support demand, but the current trend still points to a softer resale environment than a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.81/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 29.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 11.20% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.81/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $68,701 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $56,805 CAD average.
• The 2023 adds a Rebel trim aimed at stronger off-road capability.

The bottom line: If you want the better value, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because it combines strong owner satisfaction with a lower average price and softer market pricing. If you specifically want the newer-year premium and the added off-road focus, the 2023 is worth a look, but you should expect to pay more for it.
