Used 2020 RAM 2500 for Sale nearRichmond Hill, ON

How much does the 2020 RAM 2500 cost?

Prices have softened 20.18% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 187 listings available, which suggests a reasonable amount of inventory for you to compare.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — with a 4.85/5 user rating and an 8.83/10 expert rating, the 2020 RAM 2500 lands strongly for shoppers who want a heavy-duty truck that feels more upscale than utilitarian. The model scores 10/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

Owners consistently praise its powerful performance, comfortable ride, impressive interior features, reliability, and towing capability. The trade-offs are weaker fuel economy and some design criticisms, while the expert review also points to sluggish performance and a ride that can feel brittle when you are not using the truck for serious work.

If you need a heavy-duty pickup that can handle demanding towing and hauling while still feeling refined inside, this Ram fits that brief well. With 35.3% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still enough market activity for you to shop selectively.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.85/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction. The owner feedback also highlights reliability, with particular confidence in the Cummins diesel engine and a reputation for dependable towing performance.

The expert road test reinforces that sense of durability, describing the truck as something that is meant to haul every day and won’t ever get tired. It also notes that the diesel exhaust brake helps reduce brake wear, which is a useful ownership advantage if you tow often.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is less about basic toughness and more about whether the truck has been worked hard, since heavy-duty use can accelerate wear if maintenance has been neglected.

What should I look for when buying a used 2020 RAM 2500?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The cabin quality rises sharply as you move up the range, with upper trims delivering very good materials and fit and finish, and the Laramie Longhorn and Limited standing out for their especially rich interior treatment. Base trucks are much more work-focused, so you should check whether the features you want are included before you buy.
• Powertrain: You can choose between a 6.4-litre Hemi V8 with 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque, or a 6.7-litre Cummins inline-six diesel with 370 hp and 850 lb-ft of torque. The gas V8 is the stronger payload choice, while the diesel is the better towing and torque option.
• Safety package: Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking. You should confirm which of these are fitted on the truck you are considering.
• Infotainment: A 5-inch touchscreen with Bluetooth is standard, but the 8.4-inch Uconnect upgrade is the one to look for if you want a more useful setup. The available 12-inch display is the standout, with huge maps, trailer-focused functions, and 360-degree camera views.
• Fuel efficiency: Natural Resources Canada does not rate heavy-duty trucks for fuel efficiency, but the diesel test returned close to 12.4 litres per 100 kilometres over more than 800 mostly highway kilometres.

Which 2020 RAM 2500 trim should I buy?

The 2020 RAM 2500 is offered in 6 trim levels: Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Laramie Longhorn, Limited, and Power Wagon.

Here's the short version:

• Tradesman: This is the work-focused starting point, so it makes sense if you want the Ram 2500’s core capability without paying for the luxury touches that define the higher trims. Make sure the equipment you want is actually included, because the standard truck is much more basic than the upper trims.
• Big Horn: This is the trim to consider if you want a better balance of value and everyday comfort, since it moves you beyond the bare-bones setup without jumping all the way to the premium end of the range. It should suit you if you want a more pleasant truck without chasing the most expensive features.
• Laramie: This is the best-value trim for many shoppers because it brings a much more upscale feel while staying below the top luxury models. If you want the Ram 2500’s refined cabin and strong tech without stretching to the highest prices, this is the one to focus on.
• Laramie Longhorn: This trim is for you if interior craftsmanship matters most, because the materials and detailing are described as especially impressive. It is the right choice if you want the truck to feel genuinely premium every time you climb in.
• Limited: This is the luxury flagship, with the richest presentation and the most polished overall feel. Choose it if you want the most upscale version of the Ram 2500 and are willing to pay for it.
• Power Wagon: This is the off-road-oriented choice, so it makes sense if you want the truck’s capability to lean more toward rough terrain than luxury. It is the trim to target if off-road use is part of your plan.

Most driver assists are optional, so you should verify the safety equipment on any trim you are considering before you buy.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 187 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.18% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $41,723 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2020 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $41,723 CAD sits slightly below last year's $52,271 CAD.

That price movement suggests the market has cooled, which can be helpful if you are buying now but less favourable if you are planning to sell soon. If you own one, you may need to price it competitively to stand out, especially against other heavy-duty trucks in the same segment.

The good news for future resale is that this model has strong appeal among buyers who want luxury, capability, and technology in one package. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.85/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2020 RAM 2500 safe?

The Ram 2500 will not be rated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) or the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). It earns a 9/10 safety score from our experts.

Most driver assists are optional, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and forward emergency braking. Ram says the emergency braking system will function with a trailer attached, which is a useful detail if you tow regularly.

Because the truck itself is not crash-tested by the major agencies, you should pay close attention to the safety equipment on the specific used example you are considering.

Should I buy a 2020 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2020 if:

• 35.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 20.18% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.85/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2020 model stands out for its upscale feel, impressive technology, and strong capability in a heavy-duty package.

The bottom line: If you want a used heavy-duty truck that feels more luxurious and innovative than most rivals, the 2020 RAM 2500 is the year to target. If you are more price-sensitive, you can still shop nearby years, but the 2020 offers a compelling mix of value, owner satisfaction, and refinement that makes it an easy one to recommend.
