Is the 2022 RAM 2500 a good car?

Yes — the 2022 RAM 2500 earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Owners consistently praise its power, comfortable ride, and excellent interior features, and many also value its towing capability and usefulness for work or leisure. For you, that means this truck fits especially well if you want heavy-duty capability without giving up a more comfortable, well-equipped cabin. With 30.7% of listings marked as good or great deals, there is still meaningful shopping room in the market.

Is the 2022 RAM 2500 reliable?

Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The owner feedback also highlights reliability, dependability, and a truck that many people feel confident using for work or leisure over the long term. That kind of response matters if you want a used heavy-duty pickup you can count on.

For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is less about broad satisfaction and more about checking for the specific wear and noise concerns some owners mention.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 RAM 2500?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 323 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.01% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $56,259 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 RAM 2500's resale value?

The current average of $57,036 CAD sits slightly below last year's $63,378 CAD.

That decline suggests the market has become more favourable for buyers, but it also means future sellers may need to price more competitively if they want to move quickly. If you buy at today’s average, you may have less immediate upside than someone who purchased before the recent softening. Still, the truck’s strong owner satisfaction can help support demand when it’s time to sell.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Should I buy a 2022 RAM 2500 or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 30.7% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 10.01% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $66,591 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $57,036 CAD average.
• It adds a more off-road-focused Rebel and a purpose-built Power Wagon option.

The bottom line: The 2022 is the better value if you want strong capability, high owner satisfaction, and a lower average price. If you want a newer model year and are willing to pay more for a broader off-road-oriented lineup, the 2023 is worth a look. For most price-sensitive buyers, the 2022 is the smarter starting point.
