Used 2022 MINI Cooper for Sale near British Columbia

How much does the 2022 MINI Cooper cost?

Prices have softened 2.88% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 83 listings available, which suggests you have a reasonable amount of inventory to compare.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper a good car?

Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 5.17/10 expert rating. The model scores 7/10 across Look and feel and Technology.

The 2022 MINI Cooper is a premium small car with a distinctly personal feel, and it leans hard into style, technology, and customisation rather than everyday practicality. It is especially appealing if you want a compact car that feels more individual than ordinary.

The market shows 28.9% good or great deals, which gives you some room to shop selectively.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 MINI Cooper is built on BMW hardware and uses BMW engines and technology, which supports its premium positioning. Its engineering focus is on personality and customisation, and the available powertrains and equipment give you a lot of choice for a small car.

The performance setup is straightforward and well established, with turbocharged engines, manual and automatic transmission choices, and front-wheel drive. MINI also includes a maintenance perk in the ownership story by making the first scheduled maintenance visit complimentary.

For used buyers, the main long-term risk is that a highly optioned premium small car can be more expensive to keep satisfying if you want the full feature set.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 MINI Cooper?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The base model gets the refreshed styling, standard LED headlights, a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen, and digital instrumentation, while Premier and Premier+ add more equipment and help you move toward the more feature-rich versions. If you want the most complete experience, the higher trims are the ones to focus on.
• Powertrain: The Cooper uses a turbocharged 1.5-litre three-cylinder engine, while the Cooper S steps up to a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder. The John Cooper Works version uses a tuned version of the Cooper S engine for the strongest performance.
• Safety package: Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is available only with an automatic transmission, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert is not available.
• Infotainment: You get a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen, wireless smartphone charging is available, and Apple CarPlay is supported, but Android Auto is not available. The system also offers BMW-based connected services.
• Fuel efficiency: The Cooper S is rated at 8.1 L/100 km in combined driving, and the test vehicle averaged 8.7 L/100 km.

Which 2022 MINI Cooper trim should I buy?

The 2022 MINI Cooper is offered in 3 trim levels: Cooper, Cooper S, and John Cooper Works.

Here's the short version:

• Cooper: This is the entry point if you want the refreshed styling, standard LED headlights, the 8.8-inch touchscreen, and the core MINI personality without paying for extra performance. It suits you best if you value style and customisation over outright speed.
• Cooper S: This is the best-value trim if you want the strongest balance of performance and everyday usability. It adds the turbocharged 2.0-litre engine and brings the more engaging driving character that suits the MINI best.
• John Cooper Works: Choose this if you want the most powerful and most enthusiast-focused version. It is the one for you if performance matters more than comfort or value.

Driving Assistant is standard, and adaptive cruise control is available only with an automatic transmission.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 MINI Cooper?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 83 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.88% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $23,586 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 MINI Cooper's resale value?

The current average of $25,794 CAD sits slightly below last year's $26,558 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests the market has become a bit more favourable for buyers, which can make it harder for a future seller to command a premium unless the car is especially well equipped or well kept. If you buy smart now, you may be entering at a more realistic price point than owners saw a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 MINI Cooper safe?

The 2022 MINI Cooper does not have published crash-test ratings from NHTSA or IIHS.

It earns a 3/10 safety score from our experts.

Driving Assistant is standard and includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic emergency braking, and lane-departure warning. Adaptive cruise control is available only with an automatic transmission, and it can bring the car to a full stop for 2022.

A blind-spot monitoring system with rear cross-traffic alert is not available, which is a notable gap given the visibility challenges when the top is raised.

Should I buy a 2022 MINI Cooper or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 28.9% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 2.88% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• It adds refreshed styling, standard LED headlights, and a standard 8.8-inch touchscreen.

Consider the 2023 if:

• At $28,306 CAD, the 2023 costs more than the current year's $25,794 CAD average.
• It adds a limited-run Resolute Edition and new paint colours.

The bottom line: If you want the better-value buy, the 2022 is the smarter starting point because pricing has eased and the feature set is already strong. If you care more about fresh visual touches and are willing to pay more, the 2023 is the better pick.
