Yes — it earns a 5/5 user rating and a 7.83/10 expert rating. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The 2022 NX is aimed at a young, affluent, diverse, and tech-savvy buyer, and that shows in its more modern design, advanced technology, electrification focus, and Lexus Driving Signature tuning. It is meant to feel more dynamic and more current than the model it replaces while still fitting the luxury brief you expect from Lexus.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The 2022 NX is presented as a more attractive, more dynamic, and more technologically advanced SUV than the one it replaces, and Lexus ties it to the brand’s future pillars of bold design, advanced technology, electrification, and Lexus Driving Signature. The available information also points to a strong dependability story through the brand’s emphasis on long-term confidence and the NX’s reputation for a premium feel.

Its performance side is framed around composed, capable road manners, with the turbocharged version described as smooth enough for everyday use and the chassis tuned for a lower centre of gravity and reduced curb weight. On the ownership side, the tech-heavy cabin and broad feature set should appeal if you want a modern luxury SUV, but the complexity of the interface means you should make sure the controls suit you before buying used.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus NX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The NX comes in base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury trims, and the base version is the one most likely to leave you wanting more if you care about upscale materials and convenience features. The F Sport adds a more aggressive look and sportier cabin details, while the Luxury trim brings a more premium feel.
• Powertrain: The NX 250 uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder, while the NX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque. The NX 350h hybrid and NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid are also part of the lineup, and the NX 350 is the focus here if you want the more rewarding gas-only setup.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, and the Emergency Driving Stop System. Standard blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Assist are also included, while some features such as rear pedestrian detection and a panoramic view monitor are tied to packages.
• Infotainment: A 9.8-inch touchscreen is standard, with a 14-inch screen available. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, and over-the-air software updates are included. You should also check whether the vehicle has the features you want from the connected-services and audio options.
• Fuel efficiency: The NX 350 is listed at 9.5 L/100 km in combined driving, while observed fuel consumption was 9.2 L/100 km for the non-F Sport and 10.6 L/100 km for the F Sport.

Which 2022 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus NX is offered in 4 trim levels: base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury.

Here's the short version:

• base: This is the entry point, but you should only choose it if you are comfortable giving up some of the NX’s more upscale feel and convenience features. It makes sense if you want the redesigned NX experience at the lowest possible price.
• Premium: This is the best-value trim for most shoppers because it should give you a better balance of equipment and price without pushing you into the more style-focused or luxury-focused versions.
• F Sport: Choose this if you want the sportier look and feel, including the unique mesh-pattern grille, sport-bolstered seats, black headliner, F Sport steering wheel, unique instrumentation, and performance-oriented suspension tuning.
• Luxury: Pick this if you want the most upscale version of the NX, especially if you value the richer cabin presentation and the more premium materials mentioned in the test-drive notes.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, so you get a strong safety foundation even before moving up the trim ladder.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate market for selective buyers, so it rewards patience and comparison shopping.

• Deal availability: 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 146 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.40% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,920 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $41,969 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,840 CAD.

That softer pricing suggests the market has already adjusted downward, which can help you buy more confidently today. For a future seller, it also means you should expect resale value to depend heavily on condition, mileage, and how well the vehicle is equipped. Well-kept examples with desirable features should still attract attention, but the current trend shows there is less pricing momentum than there was a year ago.

Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX safe?

The 2022 Lexus NX earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

It comes standard with Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, which bundles lane keep assist, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, and the Emergency Driving Stop System. You also get a standard blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and Safe Exit Assist with digital-latch door releases.

Some additional safety features are available in packages, including rear pedestrian detection, adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, a panoramic view monitor, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assistance for use with adaptive cruise control.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 25.3% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 6.40% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The redesigned NX is positioned as a more attractive, more dynamic, and more technologically advanced SUV with a stronger focus on bold design and advanced technology.

The bottom line:

If you want the redesigned NX’s newer look, stronger tech, and more modern character, the 2022 is the right year to target. If your priority is stretching your budget, a nearby year may offer a lower entry price, but the 2022 gives you the more current product direction and a market that is already showing some price softness.
