CarGurus Analysis: 2020 Lexus NX
Summary
With 116 currently listed for sale and an average price of $29,761 CAD, 33.6% of 2020 Lexus NX listings on CarGurus are rated as good or great deals.
Favourably reviewed: Owners rated the 2020 Lexus NX 4.8 / 5 stars.
Why it stands out
The 2020 Lexus NX stands out for blending distinctive styling, a premium feel, and a strong reputation for reliability in a compact luxury SUV package. Lexus gave the NX an angular exterior and a dramatic spindle grille, and that design still helps it look more striking than many rivals. It also has a luxury-oriented cabin that was meant to hold its own against key competitors, even if the overall formula is more about polish and durability than outright driving excitement.
For 2020, the NX benefits from the model’s established strengths rather than a major redesign. Lexus Safety System+ became standard in 2018, bringing automatic emergency braking, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control, and lane departure warning with lane keep assist. The NX also offers a hybrid powertrain that is praised for fuel efficiency, while the model line’s standard all-wheel drive in Canada and automatic transmission add to its everyday appeal. At the same time, buyers should note that many desirable features are bundled into option packs, and the NX is not as good to drive as some rivals.
Owners tend to value the 2020 Lexus NX for its upscale interior, technology, and overall value, with Apple CarPlay often singled out as a welcome feature. The main drawback is space, as some drivers find it less accommodating for larger occupants. Even so, its combination of safety equipment, efficiency, and Lexus reliability makes it an appealing choice for shoppers who want a compact luxury SUV that feels well built and easy to live with.

Great vehicle! I love it! I would just like if it were a little bigger as my so is 6’1 and only 17… but that’s the only downside. It had many safety features, car play, great MPG. I’m very happy with it!

| Year-Round High | $33,901 CAD |
| Average Price a Year Ago | $33,374 CAD |

Is the 2020 Lexus NX a good car?
Yes — the 2020 Lexus NX earns a 4.8/5 user rating, which points to strong owner satisfaction. Drivers consistently praise its luxury features, interior quality, and technology, with Apple CarPlay often singled out as a welcome addition. It also fits well if you want a compact luxury SUV that feels polished, easy to live with, and value-oriented rather than sporty. With 36% of listings marked as good or great deals, you have a reasonable chance of finding a competitive offer.
Is the 2020 Lexus NX reliable?
Owners rate it 4.8/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.
The user feedback highlights reliability, dependability, and a trouble-free ownership experience, which lines up with the NX’s reputation for being easy to count on over time. That matters if you want a used luxury SUV that should be less stressful to own than many alternatives. For used buyers, the main long-term risk is making sure the specific vehicle has been maintained properly, since condition and service history matter more as the kilometres add up.
Is now a good time to buy a used 2020 Lexus NX?
This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop patiently and still find worthwhile options.
- Deal availability: 36% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Inventory: There are 125 listings available.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.03% compared with last year.
If you find a listing below $28,953 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.
What is the 2020 Lexus NX's resale value?
The current average of $29,691 CAD sits slightly below last year's $33,374 CAD.
That softer pricing can be good news if you're buying now, but it also means future sellers may face a more competitive market if values stay under pressure. The current range suggests the NX still has meaningful demand, especially for shoppers who want a premium compact SUV with a strong reputation. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 4.8/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.
Should I buy a 2020 Lexus NX or consider a different year?
If you're weighing the 2020 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:
Choose the 2020 if:
- 36% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
- Price trend: Prices have softened 11.03% compared with last year.
- Owners rate it 4.8/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
The bottom line: The 2020 NX makes the most sense if you want a compact luxury SUV with strong owner approval, a softer used-market price, and a polished everyday feel. If you are especially price-sensitive, you may want to compare nearby model years and focus on whichever one gives you the best combination of condition, equipment, and asking price.
