How much does the 2022 Lexus NX cost?

Prices have softened 4.72% compared to this time last year, making it a favourable time to shop this model year.

There are 141 listings available, which suggests a healthy amount of inventory for used shoppers.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX a good car?

Yes — 5/5 is a strong user rating for the 2022 Lexus NX, and our experts rate it 7.8/10 overall, with an 8.0/10 expert score for technology and a 10/10 score for safety. The standout strength is Safety at 10/10.

The redesigned NX is aimed at a young, affluent, diverse, and tech-savvy audience, and that shows in its more modern design, advanced technology, electrification focus, and Lexus Driving Signature tuning. It is meant to feel more current and more engaging while still delivering the premium character you expect from Lexus.

The market also looks reasonably supportive, with 26.2% of listings marked as good or great deals.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX reliable?

Owners rate it 5/5, a strong signal of long-term satisfaction.

The NX’s appeal is built around a strong reputation for dependability, and the 2022 redesign keeps that focus while adding more technology and a more modern cabin. The expert evaluation also points to a composed, capable driving character and a high-quality overall feel, even if some controls are less intuitive than before.

The turbocharged powertrain is described as more rewarding than the base engine, and the model’s standard all-wheel drive in Canada adds confidence for year-round use. For used buyers, the main long-term ownership risk is that the NX’s added technology and premium features can make repairs or out-of-warranty upkeep more expensive than on a simpler SUV.

What should I look for when buying a used 2022 Lexus NX?

Key things to evaluate:

• Trim level: The NX comes in four model series — NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h, and NX 450h+ — with available trim levels including base, Premium, F Sport, and Luxury. The base versions are the simplest, while the NX Executive Package adds real leather and open pore wood trim. The F Sport stands out with a unique mesh-pattern grille, body-colour fender trim, 20-inch gloss black wheels, black mirrors, sport-bolstered seats, a black headliner, unique instrumentation, dark interior trim, and alloy pedals and scuff plates.
• Powertrain: The NX 250 uses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder with 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, while the NX 350 uses a turbocharged 2.4-litre four-cylinder with 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The NX 350h is a hybrid, and the NX 450h+ is a plug-in hybrid with 302 horsepower and an estimated 61 kilometres of pure electric range.
• Safety package: Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard and includes lane keep assist, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, Emergency Driving Stop System, blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, Safe Exit Assist with digital-latch door releases, and pedestrian, cyclist, and motorcyclist detection. Some features, including rear pedestrian detection, adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, panoramic view monitoring, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assistance, are offered in packages.
• Infotainment: A 9.8-inch touchscreen is standard, with a 14-inch screen available. Lexus Interface includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, Voice Assistant technology, OTA software updates, and connected services support.
• Fuel efficiency: The NX 350h is rated at 6.0 L/100 km in combined driving, while the NX 350 is listed at 9.5 L/100 km combined by NRCan and was observed at 9.2 L/100 km in testing.

Which 2022 Lexus NX trim should I buy?

The 2022 Lexus NX is offered in 4 trim levels: NX 250, NX 350, NX 350h, and NX 450h+.

Here's the short version:

• NX 250: This is the entry point if you want the redesigned NX’s new tech, standard all-wheel drive, and the 9.8-inch touchscreen without stepping up to a more expensive powertrain. It makes the most sense if you value the new cabin and safety tech more than extra performance.
• NX 350: This is the best-value choice if you want the more rewarding turbocharged engine. It adds 275 horsepower and a stronger driving character, while still keeping the NX’s core luxury and technology strengths intact.
• NX 350h: Choose this if fuel efficiency matters most and you want a hybrid setup. It delivers the best combined consumption figure in the lineup and suits buyers who prioritise lower running costs.
• NX 450h+: Pick this if you want the plug-in hybrid with the most power and the ability to drive on electricity for short trips. It is the most advanced option in the range and best for shoppers who want electrification at the top of the lineup.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard across the lineup, but some extra safety features are reserved for packages.

Is now a good time to buy a used 2022 Lexus NX?

This looks like a moderate, selective buyer’s market, so you can shop carefully and still find worthwhile listings.

• Deal availability: 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Inventory: There are 141 listings available.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.

If you find a listing below $40,925 CAD, that's toward the low end of the year-round range and worth acting on quickly.

What is the 2022 Lexus NX's resale value?

The current average of $42,234 CAD sits slightly below last year's $44,328 CAD.

That softer pricing trend suggests the NX is currently more accessible to used buyers than it was a year ago. For a future seller, that can mean less immediate upside if you buy at today’s average price and try to resell soon after.

Even so, the model’s premium positioning, strong technology story, and broad appeal should help it remain relevant in the used market. Vehicles with strong owner satisfaction ratings, like this model year's 5/5, tend to retain buyer demand, which supports resale value over time.

Is the 2022 Lexus NX safe?

The 2022 Lexus NX earns a 10/10 safety score from our experts.

Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 is standard, and it bundles lane keep assist, lane departure warning, dynamic radar cruise control, automatic high beams, Risk Avoidance Emergency Steer Assist, Oncoming Vehicle Detection, Oncoming Pedestrian Detection, Curve Speed Management, and Emergency Driving Stop System. It also includes a blind-spot monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, Safe Exit Assist with digital-latch door releases, and collision-avoidance support for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists.

Some additional safety features are available in packages, including rear pedestrian detection, adaptive front lighting, rain-sensing wipers, semi-autonomous parking assist with automatic braking, rear cross-traffic braking, panoramic view monitoring, front cross-traffic alert, and lane-change assistance. The main caveat is that some of the more advanced safety equipment is not standard on every version.

Should I buy a 2022 Lexus NX or consider a different year?

If you're weighing the 2022 against nearby model years, here's how to think about it:

Choose the 2022 if:

• 26.2% of listings are priced as good or great deals.
• Price trend: Prices have softened 4.72% compared with last year.
• Owners rate it 5/5 — a strong satisfaction signal.
• The 2022 redesign brings a more modern look, more advanced technology, and a stronger focus on electrification and Lexus Driving Signature tuning.

The bottom line: If you want the redesigned NX’s newer cabin, stronger tech, and more modern identity, the 2022 is the right path. If your priority is simply the lowest possible purchase price, a nearby model year may be worth considering, but you give up some of the redesign’s appeal and forward-looking features.

How does the 2022 Lexus NX compare to the 2022 Toyota RAV4?

Our experts score the 2022 Lexus NX 7.8/10 and the 2022 Toyota RAV4 8.3/10. The NX is the more premium and technology-forward choice, while the RAV4 offers a lower entry price and stronger value on paper. If you want a luxury feel and a more upscale cabin, the NX makes sense; if you want a cheaper, more practical buy, the RAV4 has the edge.
